Our little girl had to undergo an important procedure yesterday, and to say I was stressed would be an understatement. The vets were incredibly patient and took the time to explain everything to me, going through all the medications and what to expect, especially since I really wasn’t in the best headspace at the time.
Early this morning we ran into another issue, so running on barely an hour of sleep and completely overwhelmed, we headed straight back to the vet as soon as they opened. Once again, they were so kind, patient and understanding through the whole situation. They took the time to talk me through everything, kept our little one in for a few more hours to monitor her, and reassured me when I honestly felt like I was falling apart.
I’m incredibly grateful for the care and compassion they showed my little girl. She means the absolute world to me, and seeing people treat her with that much kindness and genuine care means everything.
So a massive thank you to all the staff !

This week we had a day filled with unexpected challenges as we witnessed our fur baby Daisy, experience a seizure for the very first time.
It was a heart stopping moment, the kind that leaves you feeling so so scared.
But in the midst of that turmoil, we were so lucky to have seen Vet Ben yesterday.
Ben’s compassion and understanding were nothing short of remarkable. He listened to our concerns, offering reassurance and support when we needed it most.
It was so clear to us that Ben didn’t just see our dog Daisy as a patient he treated her with the same love and care he would give to his own pets.
In times like this, it’s the kindness of others that shines the most.
His dedication and concern was amazing turning a frightening experience into one filled with hope.
It’s moments like these that remind us of the incredible bond and love we share with our pets, and the compassionate Vet who help us through the tough times. Ben explained everything clearly and we left understanding exactly what the next step is and knowing what to look out for with Daisy.

I just wanted to send a huge thank you to Mel, we made the tough decision to say goodbye to our rabbit Star and despite how hard of a decision it was Mel’s compassion, empathy, respect and kindness just radiated through them the entire process and they were incredibly reassuring and validating towards our feelings and concerns. Star wasn’t just some rabbit, Star was our smallest member or the family with a huge personality who would wait for the fridge to be opened to steal food and taught my 2 children

I would highly recommend Companion Animal Veterinary Hospital. We were always made to feel comfortable there and last week they were very professional and caring when we had to make that hard decision for our dog Sammy to have his angel wings.. We then received a bunch of beautiful flowers with Sammy's paw prints. It's the extra detail that means so much. Thank You for your compassion.

Staff are very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. Service is great and the set up is terrific for all animals. I love the separate cat waiting area to ensure that your pets stress levels are kept as low as possible.

Took my elderly rabbit in for a checkup and the staff were absolutely wonderful to my partner and I even though they were quite busy. Our bunny was handled with care by everyone that touched him.
The new building is a convenient location and they seem to still have dedicated parking out back. I think you can access it from the side street parallel to Baan Baan.

So incredibly impressed with this veterinarian clinic, every time I have called with an emergency their friendly staff are always happy to help regardless of how busy they are and have taken in the animal. I ordered my very fussy dogs food through this vet and it arrived the next day. When I went to collect my bub was asleep in the car so the staff brought the card machine and food to the car for me. Great service all round!

I am overwhelmed by the support & friendliness I received from Companion Vet Dapto on the heart breaking decision to put our beloved dog down of 14 years. From the word go all the staff were so sympathetic to myself & my families needs. They gave us a quiet room to sit in while I was waiting for my family, then put all of us in another room with Roxy to spend time with her for the last time. Sam who did the procedure was very professional & understanding, giving us quiet time alone with her after it was done.
I would definitely recommend them to anyone whose animals mean the world to them, they are all one in a million & I thank you all so much.
Also for the thoughtful flowers that were left at my door, the day I picked her ashes up.

Was in need of prescription type dog food that is in short supply after recent fire at dog food company's manufacturing site here in Australia .... Needed to keep pup on this food as in middle of an allergy type trial ... my vets in Kiama had none available and suggested I ring around ... Dapto had some and were very helpful on the phone. When I went to pick it up they have aghod parking area off a rear lane with rear entry ... they have a cool corridor with all pictures of pets ... they have a cat hotel and have some gold cat rating (I'm a dog person but even I was pretty impressed) and have a totally separate area for cats to the main area for their whole vet visits. The lady who served me was again very helpful even offering to help with the dog food bags even though she was busy and I was not a usual customer. They had a good range of products and seemed to be well set up... I I needed vet care in that area or my own long term vets in my area were not available I would seriously consider going here.

Exceptional vet practice, our Golden Retriever was cared for by this incredible team of vets, nurses and support staff throughout all stages of his life.
Now we start the journey again with our new pup and I couldn't even think of going somewhere else.
We travel to Dapto from Kiama because of how well this team treats the animals in their care.
I would highly recommend Companion Animal Vet Hospital to all pet owners in the Illawarra.

I'd like to compliment Vet nurse Cal for his professional and gentle manner for coming to my home to give Poppy his arthritis shot. I was anxious and thought it may have been a bad idea but it turned out well. Took 5 minutes and no stress for either Poppy or me.
