Recently, we had a water leakage due to a mistake made by a different plumbing company. I texted Silas on Friday night to ask if he handles floor/ceiling damage due to water leaks and he was ready to come over to check the damage and even bring the industrial fans to dry the ceiling/floor out. He ended up stopping by next day morning since it was not that urgent and explained the process along with few options to resolve the issue. We ended up calling our insurance to file a claim. This is another example that shows that Silas not only cares about getting the job done but works hard to keep the relationship with his former clients.

We hired Van Horn Construction to replace 17 windows and two patio doors in our house. We are very happy with the process and results. The owner, Sy Van Horn, met with us several times and discussed various manufacturers and installation options. We decided to go with Marvin windows and doors. Since we wanted to keep the siding intact, Sy recommended flangeless windows replacement. He hired a very competent installer who used proper metal work around the frame, tape, silicon, and expansion foam to ensure there would be no water leak. Sy was visiting the site regularly and addressed any questions or concerns that we had. Some of the windows needed to be painted and some needed to be stained. Sy hired a competent painting company for the job. One of the patio doors was slightly warped and would not close properly. Sy ordered a new door from Marvin. It took a few months for the replacement door to arrive. It is now installed and painted. Project management for this work was very important and Sy did a great job. We are happy with Van Horn Construction, and I strongly recommend them for windows and door replacement.

It is concerning to deal with an insurance claim after storm damage has been done. Silas and his staff do great work and worked with our insurance agency to get what was damaged repaired. Silas demonstrates excellent customer service and follows through with what he says he will do. Van Horn Construction turned a bad situation into a blessing. We now have a beautiful new roof and custom-colored LP siding. These guys are the best in the twin cities metro area!
