this needs a buyers beware sticker on it. i did learn a lot yes. but i spent more time on google and in comments sections than i did actually paying attention to the videos. its very old and a lot of the ending part of the course the pacing gets really sped up. i was not a fan of his teaching methods. its nice being able to get help in time on the forums when you're struggling, but being told just download an old version is kinda counter intuitive when it comes to learning a new program. since... i started out on a more updated version. for the price i don't think this is worth it anymore. maybe 3 years ago absolutely.

Certain aspects of the course are quite impressive, while others can be somewhat frustrating. In particular, sections requiring one to keep pace with the instructor can be challenging, as the instructor tends to work at their own speed, making it difficult for complete beginners to keep up. Additionally, the use of a beta version of Blender 2.8 by the tutor complicates matters, as it leads to difficulties in locating specific features in the latest versions of Blender. Overall, the course is fairly robust and I don't regret purchasing it. However, to be candid, I wouldn't consider repurchasing it, especially not at full price.

I wish I could rate 3.5, the course is great, Zach is very knowledgeable without a doubt. One thing that I am finding irritating is that the massive info dump the first sections give. We painstakingly go through each and every menu item, User interface, for each and every purpose be it modelling etc. I admit, animation, sculpt, and some others are briefly glossed over thankfully. But I can't help but feel that it would have been easier to go through the menu items through examples courses for what is needed and when. I find it hard to concentrate initially, and eventually I almost stopped caring because it's impossible to remember all the menus, when to use them, in 2-3 minute clips sometimes. I have no regrets in getting this course, I think this isn't a dealbreaker, and I think partly the point is that we don't need to memorize, but just to make you feel comfortable. And I think it works. Just personally, it is kind of overwhelming.

I'm going OK, but it's frustrating at times. When following your course it gets confusing at sometimes because you explain things that are relevant but not in the context of what is happening at the present time of the course. For example in the particles section you explain what is going on, but I feel, you talk too much about things pertaining to the subject and over explain, and it just confuses me.(no offense meant). Look Blender is not an easy program to use, or get to know easily, I get it, but over explaining somethings does not help, when you're just starting out. But I'm getting there. I have had to remake the car five times, because I don't know how to solve an issue that happens, like the geometry does not look right, vertices overlap, and I don't notice them, weird things happen, and it well, just confuses me. But overall I'm prepared to get on with the course and finish it, no matter how long it takes me. Every time I'm working on it I'm learning new things about the program. So it's not all a waste of time.

Although I am a fan of Zach and CG Boost-especially Launchpad and Beginner courses, "Mastering Sculpting" seemed less useful. The course suffers from being presented in an earlier Blender version and much of the menu material is no longer applicable. Also, the presentation order seemed odd, covering texturing before brush basics. I gave up and moved on to YouTube videos to supplement the introductory topics. I imagine I will get into Zach's sculpting examples once I master the basics. No complaints here: I am happy to support CG Boost because of all the free content I have studied.

First thank you for this effort but unfortunately it's not what I was looking for. Probably I'll buy your next tutorial "Cubic Worlds", but for this one I will pass, sorry. Thanks and good luck 👍
