I traveled with Micato Safaris in Kenya this December, and the experience truly blew me away. I call it Micato Magic—because every single detail is handled so seamlessly that all you have to do is wake up and be ready for greatness.
From the moment we landed, Micato was there waiting for us right on the tarmac with a private transfer, fast-tracking us through immigration when we were exhausted from travel. That level of care set the tone for the entire trip.
One of the highlights was our Micato Safari Director (ours was Peter—who seems to be friends with everyone in Kenya ). Having a Safari Director throughout the journey provided consistency across camps. He perfectly supplemented the camp guides, added depth to our experience, and was an absolute delight to travel with.
I also had dietary restrictions, and every single meal was handled flawlessly—thoughtful, delicious, and stress-free. The staff and guides at each camp were warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable. I learned so much on this trip and felt genuinely cared for everywhere we went.
Micato’s concierge service is next level—whether it’s big requests or small ones (like running out to get socks we forgot to pack!). Including laundry made packing light effortless, and having all gratuities included removed any stress so we could just fully enjoy the safari.
And then there’s the wildlife—wow. Every day felt special, and every day brought something new. We were consistently placed in the perfect position for game viewing, and they even went out of their way to find beautiful birds for me.

Micato Safaris knows how to provide an elevated, smooth, and memorable safari experience to even an experienced traveller! My 4th safari adventure, and new to Micato Safaris, proved to be an elevated, carefree safari experience I will never forget. The little details and touches along the way made each experience even better. The lodges they chose for me, the incredible food everywhere we went, was better than I'd ever had in Africa. The fabulous guides, our personal safari director, Peter, not only beloved by me and my fellow travelers but also every staff member we encountered along the way, were above par and exceptional. Our 3-week Micato tour through India couldn't have been any better. No detail was left unchecked. The hotels we stayed in were amazing, the daily planned trips took us to all of the places we wanted to see, and our tour director was fantastic. He paid great attention to to our needs and provided flexibility in our schedule to accommodate our desires. The trip was a Grand Slam!!!

After some time for reflection we have come to the conclusion that our time that we spent with Micato on our Stanley Wing Safari was not just a vacation but a life changing experience!

We did not expect to have a safari-for-two but going to Kenya and Tanzania AFTER the Great Migration rush gave us an extraordinary experience. From the beginning to the end of our trip, Micato Safaris ensured that we would have a memorable and enjoyable safari. Watching the wild animals in their habitats was fabulous, of course, but that our overall tour guide Titus and the local guides in each of our stops were impressively knowledgeable about what we saw made the trip an awesome learning experience. Plus, how could we forget our surprise sundowners in the savannah, generous lunches outdoors, beautiful lodgings (amidst sounds of hippos and lions in the distance and the calls of unfamiliar birds), and thoughtful hosts? Truly, a wonderul experience.

Our wonderful Micato guide called India "organized chaos" but it works. This was our first trip to India and Micato put together an exceptional itinerary. For 21 days we had an outstanding guide who was very knowledgeable about India's history and current events. He was accommodating to our wishes and anticipated all our needs. Everyday we looked forward to meeting him and our skillful driver, who maneuvered us through chaotic traffic. Micato goes beyond 5*. For my birthday Micato surprised me with a donation of playground equipment given in my name to a grammar school in Varanasi. The school greeted us with thanks, songs and a cake. It was truly my best birthday. Thank you, Micato, for introducing us to the most amazing country we have ever visited and we have visited quite a few.. Namaste.

My wife just returned from a trip of a lifetime to India with my niece. Micato's excellent team prepared and executed a trip they will ever forget. It was full of history, culture, religion, people, every-day-living and was magical at every turn. All of this, coupled with Micato's precision for taking care of every little detail and being more than willing to accomplish any request they had sets Micato far apart from any other travel company!
Whether you travel to Africa with them (which we have) or India, you are in for a glorious adventure. Well done Marion and Hem and team(s).

I recently returned from my 6th trip to Africa and it was my first time with Micato, on a custom program in Kenya. Micato has a stellar reputation and corresponding price tag - would it meet expectations? Was it necessary to have a safari director, or might it feel intrusive to have someone with you 24/7?
I can confirm I 100% understand the magic of Micato. Our safari director George was instantly our fearless leader, guardian angel & beloved member of our (ladies!) group - we learned so much, laughed endlessly, and bonded in a way we’ll remember for years to come.
You cannot put a price tag on peace of mind. Travel to Africa is an investment, you earned the right to travel worry-free and be taken care of from the moment you land until you step on your flight home. Lost luggage? Tracked down and personally collected from the airline. Excess luggage (I was traveling to Asia afterwards)- they arranged storage of items that were returned after safari, with a spare Micato bag to bring home all the beautiful gifts we received throughout the trip. There are SO many surprises throughout (I won’t play spoiler!) in addition to the top notch planning & service. The team recognized when someone was quite sensitive to cold, and arranged extra blankets & warm water bottles at night for her throughout the rest of the trip. If we were tired and a meal was taking too long, a quiet word and dinner was efficiently served. A guest recently lost her husband and the team arranged a beautiful tree planting dedication in his honor, which brought us all to tears.
Our combination of properties (Mutara, Sand River & Bateleur) provided an enriching & varied experience in exactly the right order. Kenya is a magical destination, with dramatic scenery, rich culture, beautiful wildlife & heartwarming people. This is true regardless of who you travel with - and Micato only enhances this experience. Thank you Micato for the beautiful memories!!!

Mercado completely exceeded all expectations and then some. From the moment we starting planning our bespoke safari to very end as we waved goodbye to our guide, it was a truly magical experience. Elevating it further was knowing the indelible impact Micato is having on their community by giving back in such meaningful ways, along with cultivating a seasoned team of associates who warmly welcomed you into their family. We have traveled extensively to exotic places, but all those experiences pale in comparison to our Micato adventure.

Recently, I returned from the most spectacular five-star adventure with Micato Safaris, and I can say without hesitation that the entire experience was extraordinary. From beginning to end, we were thoroughly and indulgently spoiled—every detail was flawless.
Our accommodations at Mutara Camp, Sand River Camp, and Bateleur Camp were nothing short of breathtaking. Each offered its own unique charm: exquisite décor, warm hospitality, and exceptional cuisine that exceeded every expectation.
We were fortunate to be guided by George, our personal Micato Safari Director, who has more than 20 years of experience in the bush. His deep knowledge and remarkable instincts allowed us to witness elephants, zebras, giraffes, lions, rhinos, hippos, and countless other wildlife up close—often from just a few yards away. Each morning, we eagerly set out at dawn to discover which magnificent animals would greet us. On several occasions, our game drives ended with surprise breakfasts in the wild, complete with a full staff waiting to serve us amid the stunning landscape.
Beyond the safari itself, we enjoyed meaningful cultural experiences. We visited the AmericaShare Harambee Community Center, which provides children from local informal settlements the opportunity to learn essential computer skills. One of the most memorable moments for me was visiting a Maasai Mara village, where we sat with the village Chief to learn how the community lives in harmony with the land. The villagers welcomed us with a traditional dance—and even invited us to join.
Another unforgettable highlight was soaring over the Maasai Mara in a hot-air balloon, watching the sun rise over the plains while wildlife roamed below, followed by a champagne breakfast. It was pure magic.

I recently traveled to Kenya with Micato and had the trip of a lifetime! After my experience, I have a hard time imagining traveling to Africa any other way.
The trip was amazing, everything ran smoothly and we were so spoiled with the accommodations, hospitality, food, and wildlife. The real icing on the cake was our safari director, George. By the end of the trip he felt like family. I had such a great time learning from him.

Our African adventure with Micato was absolutely phenomenal! It was hands down the best trip we've ever taken—and we travel often. The entire Micato team went above and beyond, from our attentive concierge and skilled drivers to our amazing guide, Julius. Julius was not only knowledgeable and funny but also incredibly accommodating. You could see how respected he is by everyone in the safari community. The people of East Africa were so warm and welcoming, the landscapes were breathtaking, the accommodations were luxurious and the wildlife encounters were unforgettable. If you're considering a safari, I can't recommend Micato enough—they truly delivered the trip of a lifetime!

It was a family safari, Grandma, Daughter & granddaughter. We were treated with every available luxury. Dion, our guide, met us at the airport, had people waiting to aid through security, then met us. Each place we went was better than the last. We were able to see a cheetah with 4 cubs...our guide who has worked for 18 1/2 years had never seen this! We were able to see all of the Big 5 plus leopard, hyena and numerous other wild life. After coming home, it was like a dream we lived! If you want to go on a safari, please contact Micato!

We traveled with Micato November 2025 on their East African Splendour trip. It was extraordinary! Our Safari Director and guides were very welcoming, knowledgeable and took very good care of us.
The accomodations were 5 star and the food choices allowed for different preferences. I will recommend Micato to everyone!

My husband and I had the most amazing experience with Micato. We spent two weeks with them in Kenya and Tanzania, plus another six days in Cape Town. We booked a private tour and we will certainly do so again in the future.
Their attention to detail and customer care is so far beyond anything that we have experienced with any other company. They treat you with incredible professionalism, customer care, and with attention to personal detail that is truly unheard of anymore. We experienced this at every level of the company, from the booking process through all of the interactions while we were traveling.
Their model of having a Concierge for a region, plus your own dedicated Safari Director in addition to a Driver Guide provides you a level of service that is impossible for other companies to duplicate. In addition to these people who are visible to the guest each day, they have an entire team supporting their efforts in the background.
Their protocols of meeting you at the airport, personally accompanying you in any transfers that you make to another location, and physically staying at the airport until they watch your international flight depart, are very clear examples of their dedication to customer care.
I would never consider going to Africa or India without Micato.

Our trip to INDIA with Micato Safaris was the trip of a lifetime. [We had traveled with Micato previously (to Africa) and were very pleased with our accommodations, our guides, etc. in Africa.]
Our trip to India was incredible. The accommodations were overwhelming (beautiful rooms, amazing hotels/palaces, and out of the world service by wonderful hosts). Our guide, Hem Singh, was the best guide we have ever had or will ever have. He was kind, caring, knowledgeable, and he anticipated all of our needs even before we know what we needed.
Micato is an awesome organization. Our experience with Micato India was a once in a lifetime experience. We took the Royal Palaces of India tour and each venue was interesting, beautiful and exciting. We took the Varanasi extension (for 2 days) and it was also amazing and wonderful.
If you are looking for a great organization and an amazing experience, choose MICATO INDIA!!!
