For almost a year, I have been planning to return to cycling, especially now that I work from home. I did an extensive search online to see which model and brand should I buy. However, since I was a kid, growing up abroad, I had this dream to have a good brand bike, and Trek had an authorized dealer in my town, but unfortunately, my parents could not afford to give me one. So, I thought that was the time...
I started to check the Trek website and found the bike I wanted. But there was not in stock, so around two months ago, I decided to go to the nearest store, which was in Bath, about 2 hours away from where I live, to see if they had a similar model and colour, they didn't, but at least I saw the colour I wanted. On that occasion, the staff member so nice and helpful told me a new store was going to open in Poole. Which for me is about 20min away from home! Due to the friendly service received in Bath, I decided, instead of buying from an authorized dealer, to wait for the new store to open.
On the opening day, I was there and again was amazed by the outstanding customer service received, from the moment I stepped in till I left!
As soon as the doors opened, Adam, who was very friendly, helpful and responsible for managing all the UK stores, welcomed me with an exciting and warm greeting. He offered me a coffee and a Krispy Kreme Donuts, soon after, he gave me a tour of the store, and show me all the different kinds of models they offered, including the new electric bikes.
I was looking for a Marlin 5 in a specific colour and size, which currently is out of stock anywhere in the UK, but for my luck, they had one in store!
He called Mike, to assist me with any questions I had. He was very friendly and knowledgeable I told him I was not sure if the size I wanted was the right one for me. Straight away he offered me to go out for a spin, in the cycling track across the store to a test ride! I never had that offered to me before and something you will might not get by buying online!
Once back I was happy with the bike and ready to purchase! Mike was explaining to me all about the bike and its components he also asked me if I would need any additional items for my bike and kindly show me what they had in store. I ended up buying a helmet, lights and another few items for the bike, but what I really like, was the fact that he was not pushy or trying to sell anything. It looked like I was with a friend inside the store, giving his honest opinion and advice to my questions.
Loui was on the till and with the assistance of Ian, I completed my purchase.
Throughout my time in the store, despite being with other customers, Adam and the team was checking with me if everything was ok and if I need any further assistance.
Last Saturday, I returned to the store to see if there was a possibility to cut a few centimetres from the seat post, and to my surprised, despite the store being busy with customers, Adam was there and took the time to come and say hello to me! They accommodate my request and once again an exceptional service received from the whole team including the technician who helped me.
I have to say it was so worth waiting for the store to open so I could buy my bike, as I am certainly that I would not have got the same treatment and service received at Trek UK Poole in another place.
Adam, congratulations & well done to you and your team for the excellent service and atmosphere you provided not only to me but to other customers as well. I am happy with my purchased and I will recommend you guys to everyone I know! I wish you, the team and the Poole store every success!
