Me & my partner was pretty excited to hear about a new bike shop opening up, we went into the shop on Saturday lunch time as she wanted to buy her first MTB & after looking online she had an idea of what she wanted.
My partner is a little bit sceptical of going into bike shops, as being female she often feels she will be ignored or not given the time by the staff. We was hopeful of a new store that this wouldn’t happen. However, after being in the shop for over 20 minutes not one person came over to see us, great us or offer us any assistants. There was plenty of staff on the floor, many of them walked past us, either to serve coffee or have a chat to each other. We decided not to wait any longer & to leave, which was frustrating to her & myself that no one had spoken to us.
My partner felt there was a limited selection of women’s bikes & not many smaller frame sizes on the shop floor either.
We still ended up buying a bike that day but had to ordered it from an online retailer, which we felt was a shame, as we couldn’t buy it in person & now have to wait for delivery.
