I thought I’d take Trek up on their 25% discount offer on their bike service (level 3 service which cost me £157 after the discount… parts were not included). I had been told that if they kept the bike for more than 24hrs, they’d provide a replacement bike. On Thursday, I called asking if I could bring my bike in on Friday and was told that I could. If they couldn’t do the work on the Friday, I could collect my bike and bring it back so it’d be done within a day. Friday morning I was called about the total cost and told I’d get a call when it was done. Come Saturday morning, I had not heard anything so I called them only to be told they were starting the work now and I’d get a call when I could collect it later that day. Come 5pm, I had not heard anything so I called them only to be told they promised it would be done by Sunday. All of this, I could have handled (I wouldn’t be impressed but I would not have made the effort to write a review)but when I brought my bike back home on Sunday and looked it over, I noticed the chain rings had not been cleaned, wires had been placed outside of my mud guards and there was a gash in the front tyre. I went to ride it and discovered the gears had not been indexed!! My bike was in worse condition than when I brought it in! I brought my bike back on Monday. Nothing had been done with the front tyre and although Stu apologised and accepted they had underperformed, he was not willing to provide any gesture of goodwill. His response was “Please come back with something else and we’ll prove it”. Personally I won’t be going back and my cycling club has been informed. Now many independent service providers with recommendations are posted on our cycling group chats
