I am enjoying every bit of Tony's Acoustic Challenge! I have been playing guitar for about 8.5 years. I have reached a point where I have most of the basics, but I am progressing pretty slowly. I am having fun playing the songs I grew up with and playing at open mic nights, but there is so much I still want to learn (mainly soloing and using a pick).
I joined Tony's Acoustic Challenge in mid April and I am very happy I did.The daily challenges are focused on skills that build on each other and help you learn. Even though I've been playing for a while, I took the 30 Days to Play Guitar course and was able to pick up a few things.
The biggest thing that I didn't even realized was part of this when I signed up is the community of other guitar players at many different levels that form a very welcoming and helpful group. The forums are a great place to get answers to whatever questions you have and to see how everyone else is tackling the same things you are. I think that alone is worth the price of admission.
A couple things in Tony's ad hit the nail right on the head. I was spinning gears not really having anything to focus my learning on. It was a little here and a little there. Tony's system dumps you right into certain things to learn/try. Some things that you knew you wanted to learn and maybe some things you didn't realize you wanted to learn.
The other thing is that this HAS to be fun, otherwise you will never get anywhere. I have fun playing, that is why I play. With Tony's system and the community built around it, he makes learning fun too.
There is more, but I've rambled quite a bit here already. If you are on the fence, hop on down, grab your guitar, and join in the fun!
