I studied classical (briefly) as a kid, then as a young adult, then jazz as a young, and an old, adult. Throughout all of it, and many hours of practice, I could struggle my way through a sarabande or two, and I learned my major and minor scales, but Still couldn't play Tom Dooley, so I gave up. I've been subscribed to TAC around 3 weeks now, and it's been completely fun. I went thru the 30 day beginner's course, and enjoyed it. I've also been working my way through the other jumpstart classes, which likewise have been good to me. And I've been doing the daily TAC sessions as well, which mostly have been great. The dropped D banjo tuning sessions seemed a bit pointless to me, but it's all good, and today's D maj chords transitions made up for it by getting me back in to working the whole fretboard with moveable chord forms.
I'm not sure where this is all going - I'm clearly learning a fairly broad spectrum of skills - fingerpicking, flatpick, chords and chord transitions, fretboard knowledge, etc. But for now, I'm really enjoying sitting down with my guitar and TAC.
