I researched the bike I had decided on. Read the reviews. Watched the reviews. Not just the bike but all the separate components too.
This year's model was listed. The components were listed.
When I went to pick up the bike it was obvious that it was last years model (same frame as this year's, inferior drivetrain, chain, cassette etc.) Advertised as this year's with this year's components and therefore this year's price. But not.
I gave them every opportunity to tell me.
When I pointed this out, I was told,'It's supply problems from the 2020 covid pandemic.' Which, IF true is fine, but I feel I should have been told the bike listed and sold were different before the sale instead of hiding it. Last years bike with the inflated this year's price.
The shop and Trek's customer service, Sue, on the phone disagree.
Edit...
A little like Sue on Trek's customer service line, ALL deflection rather than answering any of my points on selling last years bike on this year's price.
Brilliant.
