description: "Connect a Google Business Profile as a source in EmbedSocial to pull its reviews or its GMB posts."

A **Google source** connects a Google Business Profile to EmbedSocial. You choose what it pulls when you set it up: '**Reviews**' for the reviews customers leave on your listing, or '**GMB Posts**' for the posts you publish to that profile.

Reviews are the common case. Once connected, they feed a reviews widget on your website and keep updating as new ones come in. You need access to the Google account that manages the business location.

Before you start, make sure you are signed in to the Google account that manages the location you want to connect.

## How to connect a Google source

:::steps
1. **Open the source picker.** Click '**+ Add source**' in the left menu.

## Reviews or GMB Posts?

'**Reviews**' pulls the reviews customers leave on your Google Business Profile. This is what you want for social proof on your site: star ratings, review text, and reviewer names in a reviews widget.

'**GMB Posts**' pulls the posts you publish to the profile itself, such as offers and updates. Use it when you want your Google posts mirrored on your website rather than customer feedback.

The two are separate sources. Connect both if you want reviews and posts from the same location.

## Connecting more than one location

Run through '**+ Add source**' again for each location. If your Google account manages several, they appear together under '**Places**' at the location step, and '**Search locations**' narrows the list.

## FAQ

**Q: What is the difference between Reviews and GMB Posts?**

'**Reviews**' pulls the reviews customers leave on your listing. '**GMB Posts**' pulls the posts you publish to the profile yourself. They are separate sources, so connect both if you want each.

**Q: Can I pull reviews from more than one Google location?**

Yes. Connect each location as its own source. See [Google Reviews from Multiple Locations](/docs/social-media-aggregator/google-reviews-from-multiple-locations/) for how that works across one account.

**Q: Why is my location not in the list?**

The '**Places**' list only shows locations the signed-in Google account manages. If one is missing, check that the account has access to it in Google Business Profile, then reconnect.

**Q: Do new reviews appear automatically?**

Yes. Once the source is connected it keeps syncing, so new reviews arrive without you reconnecting.

## What's next

With the source connected, decide how its reviews reach your site. See [Source types](/docs/social-media-aggregator/source-types/) for how sources feed your widgets.
