You will need: 🧭2 recycled jam jar lids 🧭 Black card 🧭A thick piece of cord/ribbon. 🧭1 bead (we cut up an old bracelet). 🧭1 re-used key ring 🧭1 recycled bottle top 🧭1 small coin (we used a shinny penny!). 🧭A glue gun 🧭A small, online printed compass face (this could be hand-drawn for those feeling extra creative). 🧭A split pin 🧭A tiny amount of paint (for the split pin dial). 🧭A recycled neck chain from an old, unused necklace. How to make: 🗺️ Draw around jam jar lids on black card to create two circles. 🗺️ Print a compass face and cut out. 🗺️ Stick compass face to one black circle. 🗺️ Secure lids together with ribbon/cord and glue gun. 🗺️ Stick both circles to inside of jam jar lids. 🗺️ Open split pin and paint - we left the tips gold. 🗺️ Stick split pin to compass face using glue gun. 🗺️ Thread re-used bead onto re-used Key ring. 🗺️ Stick bead to edge of jam jar lids - now compass. 🗺️Thread through reused chain. Sea and Soil: A #worldoceanday celebration with the devon_enviro Film 🍿 on YT linkinbio In celebration of World Ocean Day, we hosted a special community event that brought together the spirit of the sea and the soil. We gathered together for a ‘Sea and Soil’ morning to raise awareness for the incredible work of the Devon Environment Foundation. This outdoor, hands-on event offered an opportunity for 30 children (and their parents) to connect with nature through a series of blue health activities. With a focus on the positive impact of outdoor exploration on both physical and mental well-being, the morning was a chance to learn how our seas and soils sustain not only our environment but our own health, too. Join us in creating a wave of momentum as we lead up to ‘World Oceans Day’ on 8th June. 🌊 In celebration of the wonder of our fabulous sea creatures. 🎏 You will need: 🌊 Loo rolls (At least 3 or 1 and card). 🌊 Paint & brushes 🌊 Glue gun/general purpose glue 🌊 Beads/shells/buttons/seeds 🌊Scissors How to Make: 🎏Cut through loo rolls 1 & 2 and spread both cards out flat. 🎏Paint loo roll 1 in colour of choice- leave to dry. 🎏Paint loo roll 2 in pink/peach (use for mouth later)and cut into 0.5cm strips. 🎏Paint loo roll 3 (fish body) - leave to dry. 🎏Create a template for the fish fins and tail. 🎏Draw around template on flat loo roll 1 and cut out shapes. 🎏Make small cuts on edge of tail. 🎏Cut about 1cm from end of still intact loo roll 3, to make fish body a little shorter. 🎏Stick a strip of pink painted loo roll around edge of fish body to create a mouth. 🎏Attach tail and fins to fish body. 🎏Attach eyes (beads/buttons/shells) on side of fish over fins. 🎏Paint scales and decorate fish 🎏Enjoy playing with your new fishy friends! #worldoceansday #kidsfashion #outdoorkidsarehappykids #wildandfreechildren #kidsoutdoors #changingrobe #sailingkids #kidsswimming #kidsswimwear #beachschool
