Althea McNish’s father would often bring home flowers for her mother, only for them to be whisked away by McNish for her next design idea.
In Grenada Blooms, daisies, dahlias, and chrysanthemums are sketched out in pastels. Rendered in a full dynamism of high intensity before being abstracted, rescaled, and layered. Originally created for Liberty in 1965, and later revived during the 1980s, this fabric design comes alive through McNish’s vivid colour palette.
