YUIMA NAKAZATO presented its Fall/Winter couture collection "BLUE'' featuring Brewed Protein™ materials at Haute Couture Week in Paris.
The collection combines YUIMA NAKAZATO's unique “Biosmocking” technology, which allows designers to freely transform fabric shape through digital fabrication, with traditional techniques from Japanese kimono culture—such as the use of lacquer, natural indigo dye, and shibori (tie-dyeing)—to express the depth and beauty of garments that fuse tradition with innovation. In contrast to petroleum-derived materials, the shape of fabrics made with Brewed Protein materials can be effortlessly controlled through Biosmocking, and they are also well-suited to dyeing with natural dyes. BLUE utilizes the unique features of Spiber’s synthetic protein materials to showcase a diverse range of looks as well as the potential and diversity of both Brewed Protein materials and clothing itself.
