We’re about to say goodbye to our beloved store on Wezenstraat — the space that held so many memories, conversations, and even quite a few photo shoots. But as one chapter ends, another begins… Our new hullekesstorearnhem at Hommelstraat is taking shape as we speak. Today we’re still setting everything up, but if all goes well, we might already open our doors for a first soft day tomorrow. Hommelstraat will be the place where our aesthetics, circular practices and social mission truly come together. Have you peeked through the windows yet? Our Toorop Beachcomber Jacket, Monet Jacket, and Cremer Jacket are each crafted from vintage wool blankets, collected, reworked, and stitched into entirely new forms. No two are ever the same. Each jacket is a singular composition; upcycled, carefully constructed at our hullekesmanufacturing Studio, sometimes with small mendings by our hullekesrecovery Studio, and now available through our webshop, resellers and the hullekesstorearnhem (which will be open very very soon on its new location!) #upcycle #upcycledfashion #wooljacket #jacket #mending #sustainablefashion

There is something new to discover in our online collection, as we uploaded tunics and dresses this weekend. Designed with ease, movement and timelessness in mind. From the flowing silhouette of the Degas Long Sleeve Tunic, a new addition to our collection, to returning favourites like the Braque Gown and the Kahlo Tunic and Dress, now available in various fabrics. In the stillness of a garden, something begins to shift. At Hul le Kes, the natural world and the artist’s life are our enduring sources of inspiration; whether it’s Monet’s garden in Giverny, Oudolf’s landscapes, or the worn linen of Rodin’s studio clothes. Each of our garments carries a quiet invitation: to slow down, to reconnect, to step briefly outside the rush of daily life. Like a painting or a poem, clothing can transport. It has the power to place us in a different rhythm, a different state of mind. That’s why our designs are named after artists, not only as homage, but also as a reminder. Just as artists used canvas and clay to shape their worlds, we use fabric, stitch, and dye to offer space. Space for reflection. For care. For a different kind of presence. Clothing is a form of unspoken communication; first to yourself, your own body, and then gently, to the world around you. This week marks fash_rev Week, born in response to the tragic Rana Plaza collapse, now 12 years ago. It’s a moment to remember the inhuman conditions under which much of the world’s clothing is still produced, and a call to do better. We believe fashion can be different. Not just more ethical for the people who make it, but also less harmful to the planet. Take this Toorop Shirt, for example, made at our hullekesmanufacturing studio in Arnhem, from upcycled antique linen and dyed with natural pigments. It’s a garment that tells a story of care: for people, for materials, for time. Fashion Revolution Week reminds us why we do what we do. Not as a trend, but as a structural shift. A shirt is never just a shirt, it’s a reflection of the system that made it. Let’s change that system! fash_revnl #fashionrevolution #fashion #sustainablefashion #ethicalfashion #consciousfashion #upcycledfashion
