Formafantasma, Oltre Terra | Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (NL) We partnered with the formafantasma design studio in the exhibition Oltre Terra, at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, on view from February 15th to July 13th, 2025. Oltre Terra is a design exhibition that investigates the development of the extraction, production and distribution of wool products in relation to the biological evolution of sheep. The exhibition was initially commissioned by the National Museum of Norway nasjonalmuseet in 2023. The title of the exhibition comes from the etymology of the word transhumance, a combination of the Latin words trans (across, “oltre” in Italian) and humus (grounds, “terra”). RE-WEARABLE" by Clara Gauguin won the Designskolen Kolding + Manteco Academy's 2025 MANTECO SUSTAINABILITY AWARD 👉 "The Art of Play: Fashion Meets Fun" project by Sabine Olifent (photo 1-2-3) Sabine's design aims to infuse a sense of playfulness and joy into everyday clothing. Her multifunctional jacket features detachable bottom pieces, making it interactive and customizable. By adding a "skirt" element, she encourages the wearer to experience the fun of movement—evoking the desire to swing or dance. This jacket isn’t just about fashion; it’s about creating moments of excitement and positivity in a busy world. With its vibrant patterns and intricate details, the jacket sparks curiosity and invites the wearer to form a deeper connection with the garment, making it a cherished piece in any wardrobe. 👉 The "RE-VERSIBLE. RE-CYCLABLE. RE-WEARABLE" project Clara Gauguin (photo 4-5-6) Clara’s project focuses on creating a jacket designed to last longer and be fully recyclable. Made of 100% wool with no fillers or linings to complicate recycling, the jacket features red bias tape on all raw edges to guide the recycling process. The reversible design offers two looks: a timeless chestnut brown outer side with pre-loved silver closures and a modern, colorful inner side with a striking red line that highlights sculptural seams. This 2-in-1 piece is both elegant and sustainable, designed to spark curiosity and encourage long-lasting wear. ❓ What is the Manteco Sustainability Award? The Manteco Sustainability Award is a fashion contest for all those students who want to test their skills in terms of actual eco-design. Each student must present a capsule collection project and explain the reasons why it is in line with the eco-design philosophy. Manteco evaluates all the projects by considering the following points: choice of raw materials, design and look.
