Notes by Jason Jules on: The Utility Jacket.   “It’s based on a classic hunting jacket, but it’s been recalibrated for the modern city. I love the corduroy detailing on the collar and cuff and the generous pockets. It’s so easy to wear and in terms of functionality it scores a perfect 10.”   #SEBAGO

“MEET THE MYTH” — Gary Jobson “Well, certainly winning the America’s Cup was very special. To grow up thinking about the America’s Cup, and you know, at the age of 27 years old, here I am, a tactician on a cup boat. And to actually win it changed the trajectory of my career.” #SEBAGO

“A skilled carpenter is not the one who gets it right on the first try. Wood is a living, ever-changing material – its grain and essence shift, and with them, everything changes. The true craftsman is the one who embraces and learns from every error as it comes. To learn the art of building is to embark on one of life’s most beautiful journeys”.   Gaia Brojanigo won the Gente di Mare Award in the Master category because, despite being under 30, she has mastered the multifaceted knowledge of small wooden boat construction, and most importantly, she believes that building your own boat is a dream that anyone can achieve.   brojawoodworking   #SEBAGO

“It all started in 2018,” says Paolo Acanti, a freediving instructor with over 20 years of experience. “Back then, our group of freediving friends was trying to organize beach cleanups with little success. Then we had the idea to turn the cleanup into a freediving competition. It was an unexpected hit. Hundreds of freedivers came from across northern Italy, and in Genoa alone we managed to collect nearly a ton of waste”.   Annalisa Azzola and Paolo Acanti of spazzapnea won the Gente di Mare Award in the Defender category because they discovered that cleaning the sea can be another way to practice freediving.   paolo_acanti annalisaazzola   #SEBAGO
