When he took off, at least 100km from the finish, it didn’t seem real.
A script already seen so many times in the season - the solo attack from a long distance out - was a brave move today, in one of the longest races of the year, with a race full of rivals of such high calibre, on an incredibly hard course at this Swiss World... it almost seemed too bold a move… even for Tadej Pogacar, already the winner of Liège, the Giro and the Tour this year.
And so again, he delivers another triumphal ride, up and down the hills and the valleys around Zurich, until his solo, victorious arrival.
Another wonderful page is written in the history of cycling.
