the textile art scholarship
In 2022, we established a biennial scholarship for textile art. That year, the brixtol textiles’ textile art scholarship was launched. Every two years, a selected artist is awarded the scholarship and given the opportunity to create a unique piece using deadstock fabrics from our production.
The resulting artwork is then showcased in Stockholm.

”Heads” is the result of Mateas Pares’s ongoing relationship with the canvas as a sculptor, in which he uses sculptural materials as tools to instill various meanings into the canvas. In the installation ”Heads”, the canvas has been replaced by fabrics associated with the commissioner Brixtol Textiles.
