We booked 6 nights at octopus resort and stayed in a bungalow. The resort and accomidations were amazing. The location was perfect, with long, white, sandy beaches and lots of palms. They had a variety of lounging options set up pool side and beach side for reading in the shade or sunbathing. The activity options were also good - we enjoyed a snorkel fish feeding trip to the reef right out front! The food was also excellent. We heard from other travellers that Octopus resorts food is the best in the Yasawas. Very high quality and an abundance of options.
Unfortunately for us, a cyclone was predicted to hit octopus during our stay. The resort staff was very communicative and proactive about the situation. They began giving us nightly forecasts several days before the storm was expected, and helped us know what our options were (considering boat service back to mainland would be interrupted for days), and they helped organize transfer back to the mainland. We ended up needing to leave early to make sure we could get back to the mainland in time, so we only were at the resort for 2 nights. While that was the right option given the circumstances, we really wished we could go back to the sunny days in paradise right before! We are hoping to return some other time, probably in the dry season.
