We stayed at Octopus Resort in April 2025 for two nights and had a fantastic experience. The staff are amazing and the food was an amazing surprise. We were expecting basic island fare, but what came out at each meal was 5 star! We stayed in a basic but very well presented Garden Bure. It was all very clean and well maintained. The staff were very attentive and always on hand to have a chat or help out with everything. The only complaint - a bloody cyclone forming off the coast of Vanuatu meant a bit of rough weather! :-) Ah well, more time doing nothing but relaxing on the beach. We went with our sone (13 years old) and two parents in their 60's. Everyone had a great time and was well catered for.

For a place like Fiji where you likely won’t leave your resort, it is important to pick a great hotel. I spent hours researching and landed on Octopus Resort, and it was the perfect fit. I wanted something more authentic and rustic than your average Marriott etc but still something comfortable and nice, and Octopus was perfect. The staff are incredible, the rooms comfortable (even the wooden bungalows had amazing aircon), the food was amazing and didn’t get repetitive, and the drinks were good. The resort also has a great activity schedule which changes every day (some free, some for a small fee) - they were excellent but never pressured. Did an incredible mountain hike (which was quite hard but beautiful view). Also had a night time activity each night which was fun. Snorkeling is great right off the beach as well. The pool area was nicer than the photos let on. We stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful time. Also of note is that the WiFi in all of the communal areas (including the beach/pool) was very strong (but it didn’t reach the bungalows/dorms - but there somehow is good cell service here as well). Highly recommend staying here.
