This was not a resort geared to drinking and having a blast. Though the bar closes at 10pm, most guests retire to their room before this. This resort is all about relaxing and enjoying what nature gave the island.
The "bure" we stayed at, were lovely, the semi outdoor bathrooms were a nice touch. My only complaint was that my bed was old and stiff, the other two beds for my kids were comfy. Though we didn't have a view of the beach, we fell asleep to the sound of waves and we spent afternoons sitting on the deck until dinner time.
Food was good. The staff do what they can with what they have and they take allergies and sensitivities seriously. Temperature of food is hit or miss and sometimes timing can be off for larger groups. However, the staff are quick to apologise for any miss- step. Deliveries to the island are not often and sometimes some ingredients or components will be subbed out. They do their best and the service more than makes up for it. Portions are a little less than what we are used to, but we realise it's to prevent wastage. If more food is required, the staff are more than willing to supply. The menu changes twice a week with a 9 course meal on Fridays.
Many activities are free and the ones that are not (diving, far away snorkeling etc ...) are fairly priced. Lots of cultural stuff if that is your interest (it was for us) and staff are more than willing to share their culture and traditions of asked.
Only complaint is the 1.5 hours boat ride to get there. Otherwise, great for a family vacation, a honeymoon, or just to relax and forget the daily grind of work.
