Our stay at Octopus was great, despite the weather not cooperating the first 2 days. The place is sweet, with a great beach and a bunch of activities. We were worried about the food based on some of the reviews, but we actually found it really tasty, made with quality ingredients. I would describe it as homemade gourmet. The management was very responsive, both to some minor snags that we faced and the changes to activities caused by the Easter holidays. Overall, I would say it was very affordable (the prices at the bar did not feel resorty at all) and relaxing stay. One thing that could improve was staff attentiveness, who were sometimes not paying attention and seemed in their own bubble.

Overall, the trip went well but there were some hiccups along the way. The first night our lights in the room wouldn’t turn off because the light switch was broken. I reported it but it was never fixed. 2 nights after that there was heavy rains and our entire bathroom and about 4 feet into our room flooded with water, mud and silt from the hillside. We had to move rooms. That same night in the new room all the power turned off at around 1:00 AM leaving the room stifling with warm stale air making for another poor nights sleep. In the second room we never got hot water and the water pressure dribbled out of the shower head making it hard to wash the sand off. The staff however is amazing. The food is delicious and the snorkeling is amazing. If you go please tell Moses, Mena, Mellie, Nox, or Boolow that I said hi! They are amazing and make this resort great. Also, if you like to play volleyball ask the staff to play in the afternoon. It will be a great game. Probably some of the best beach volleyball you have played in the world. Literally. Have fun. Also, check your bill at the end of your trip. They almost overcharged me $390 FJD that I had to point out when I was checking out. They took it off without a fight but what if I hadn’t caught it??
