Our overall experience was disappointing, mainly due to the poor value for money. While the resort is advertised as five-star, we would rate it a three-star at best. Perhaps we visited at the wrong time, but it did not live up to our expectations.
Pros:
The staff were friendly and welcoming.
The location is right on the ocean, offering a quiet and relaxing atmosphere.
Dinners were consistently delicious.
Cons:
The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Neither my partner nor I managed to get a proper night's sleep during our stay. At $500 AUD per night, we expected at least a decent level of comfort.
Breakfast and lunch were disappointing—bland and uninspired. We were hoping for more authentic Fijian cuisine rather than basic Western dishes.
Due to the weather, all the activities we had planned were canceled, including snorkeling and swimming. While this is not the resort’s fault, it left us with very little to do, which became frustrating.
The boat transfer was overpriced ($199 FJD per person, one way) and uncomfortable. It’s a small, rocky boat—definitely not ideal for those with a sensitive stomach. Booking the ferry independently would be a much better and cheaper option.
Final Verdict
While the location and staff were great, the overall experience didn’t meet our expectations for the price. If you’re looking for a peaceful, off-the-grid escape and don’t mind limited activities, this could be a good option. However, if you expect true five-star comfort and service, you might want to explore other alternatives.
