Probably the best out of the 5 resorts we have been to. About 1 km beach to go for a walk. Owned by 2 New Zealanders, I think the locals get payed around $2.5 per hour, or was that per day? and they say they are the lucky ones compared to the other villagers on the island. Pretty good snorkeling right of the beach, thought we did not go to Barefoot and Manta ray resorts to be able to compare, they are supposed to be good also. Compulsory meal plan at $100 per person but the food was really good. Nice fresh water pool (a little chilly), decking and bar area, and beach volleyball all in one place. If you take 2 hour $40 snorkeling trip you should know that most of the time will be spent looking at the poor village school, some crafts, in transit, and only about 25 minutes snorkeling. Snorkeling is ok but right in front of the resort is better! If half of the $40 was donated to the school i would have been ok with it. No infant life vests. The staff helped us buy and deliver baby food from the mainland, but in hindsight we should have brought our own from Australia because the infant did not take to the local food. Not bad value for Fiji, but for this kind of money you would live like a king in Asia (Thailand, Vietnam, etc) and see more culture and natural environment too.

Dorms were fine, nothing special but good value with AC. Food although more expensive than our other resorts was great, especially the Japanese restaurant. Staff always friendly and lots of activities both free and paid extra. Good for families with children's areas and a pool for kiddies to swim in. The reason for 3 stars is because a fuel surcharge during our stay left a sour taste. It was only 20FJD, but it was implemented during our stay and we had no choice but to pay it. This should have been implemented for upcoming stays with clear communication or by increasing the room costs for future bookings. You cannot just increase the price of somebody's stay, whilst they are ALREADY THERE, without prior agreement, irrespective of the price. That is not fair.
