We've just got home from our 2 week stay at Paradise Cove Resort and the second year was just as fabulous as the first year.
The beach front villas are gorgeously appointed and genuinely on the beach. Unlike other high-end resorts where they claim to be beach front yet you can't see the sea or have to climb through vegetation to get to the sand. These villas are massive, they're overlooking a wide, sandy beach and each comes with its own loungers (reserved just for you) and a hammock.
Bathrooms are outdoorsey in that they are out in the open air. Yet they're 100% private, quiet, spacious with double sinks, double showers and plenty of room for your toiletries.
The main bedroom has a 4-post king size bed, WIFI, TV, lounge area, fridge (complimentary drinks and snacks), and desk space. The wardrobe is enormous and more than enough room to fully unpack and get rid of the suitcases for the duration of your stay.
The second bedroom is just as big as the first. In our case we have two single beds set up and a port-a-cot for the kids. The great thing about this room is it has it's own ensuite so the little ones don't have to venture outside for their nocturnal bathroom trips.
Both rooms have mosquito mesh on all the windows and are fully air conditioned.
The pool is big! And it's very deep in the middle so beware if you're walking from one end to the other and not a strong swimmer.
The kids club is rustic and island style which is exactly how we like it. Sand in the kids toes, braids in their hair and a day spent crab racing, making sand castles, collecting shells and generally having fun.
The staff that care for the kids are incredible: full of love and energy for the little ones. The best nurting care you can get outside the family home. The nannies we've had over the last two years are beautiful souls and we have been comfortable leaving our three moppets in their care while we're staying.
Oh and how could I forget the best bit - the food. It's genuinely superb. Absolute five-star dining experience with mouthwatering dishes and a menu that changes every 2 days and works on a weekly rotation. So if you can't decide what to order for your three-course dinner one night, you can order from the same menu the following night before it changes to a whole new selection a la carte.
The wine list is good, this is the only thing I'd like to see enhanced. But the prices - compared to some 5 star resorts - are actually reasonable. Which means your eyes wont water when you order a nice bottle of sauv or pinot.
The spa on site is good. Well appointed and offering all the usual treatments. Massages tend to be more on the relaxing side rather than therapeutic. So if you like to leave your spa treatment feeling like a tenderised steak, perhaps manage your expectations before you go in to avoid disappointment.
All in all, this resort is well deserving of its 5 star rating. We have already booked to come back for 2018.
