The main island and the Fiji Islands are not comparable. But the magic of the Fijian culture was particularly strong in Paradise Cove. We (my wife and my 6 year old son) were allowed to spend 5 days on Paradise Cove and we enjoyed every day. On arrival, the staff stood on the beach, leaving everything behind, singing and greeting us with a loud "Bula". Pure goose bumps.
We had a normal room with an outside shower. Everything was well looked after, nothing was missing.
There was an extensive, varied programme every day and the mountain hike with Watson was particularly noteworthy. He looked after us really well and told us a lot about Fiji culture and life in the village. When we were getting tired, he picked some coconuts for us. It couldn't have been fresher!
Snorkelling is a dream in Fiji. We enjoyed the house reef but also the boat snorkelling. Guests who dived with the staff (PADI base) raved about the animals (turtles, sharks etc). They had never seen anything like it before.
We were well catered for from morning to night. Especially in the evening with a 5-course menu accompanied by the staff who sang/played the guitar live. Incredibly beautiful. After the meal we enjoyed sitting down for a kava.
All the staff were incredibly friendly. My son was greeted by name by everyone on the 2nd day. Fantastic and we would love to come back!
It should be mentioned that some areas of Paradise Cove are currently being renovated, so future guests can look forward to even better quality.
