⚠️ Be careful with this hotel ⚠️ They charge a mandatory meal plan without any prior notice, and it ends up costing double the price of the accommodation itself. Unbelievable. I’ve never seen anything like this before. You end up spending more on food than on the room, without being informed at the time of booking. Very poor experience and zero transparency.

Its a tourist trap and marketing gimmick: Our 2-night stay at Paradise Cove Island felt like a complete tourist trap and marketing gimmick. The resort attracts budget travelers through Booking.com, only to impose a compulsory meal plan upon arrival—costing nearly five times the accommodation price. We were told that they had emailed us beforehand to confirm and explain this policy, yet they could not provide any record of such communication. Instead of taking responsibility, the management repeatedly avoided our concerns and even accused us of not reading our emails before traveling—an insulting response given that no such email was ever sent. The Booking.com confirmation clearly stated that “there is no meal option with this room,” with no mention of any mandatory meal plan. We paid FJD 263 for two nights’ accommodation but were forced to pay FJD 1,189.53 for just two days of meals. The meals themselves were disappointing—limited portions and choices, with only one dish allowed per person per meal. There were no starters or desserts included. During a 12-course dinner, only 10 items were served as several dishes had run out, despite our reservation. Overall, the experience was frustrating and misleading. While we did meet some kind and sincere staff members, others appeared dismissive and unhelpful. We left feeling deeply dissatisfied with what turned out to be a classic case of deceptive marketing.
