Maria Xytaki, Group Corporate Affairs, Communications and ESG Senior Manager Saracakis Group of Companies Kinsen-Europcar
Representing both Saracakis Group of Companies and Kinsen-Europcar Greece at the 𝟰𝘁𝗵 #AthensESGForum was a great experience.
Thanks to the organizer and to Vasilis Kafiris in particular, Athens ESG Forum has evolved into the top meeting point for all professionals engaged in sustainable development in Greece and abroad.
I highly recommend Athens ESG Forum to all organizations and to executives who wish to stay always one step ahead of the developments on ESG practices and regulations.
I was happy to participate to the panel discussion, titled 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘁 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 which provided a platform for engaging dialogue on ESG integration and its transformative role in business strategy.
The businesses need to recognize the long-term cost savings associated with energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing. Organizations need tools and resources to accurately calculate and realize these savings. The most important thing is the incentives, the support and the funding directed to organizations in order to integrate ESG policies, processes and practices. Businesses, academia, and government should collaborate on sustainability initiatives. Knowledge-Sharing of best practices through industry associations and partnerships will drive progress.
Consumers, governments, and investors form a comprehensive ecosystem promoting the widespread adoption of sustainable Value Chains.
Building Trust with stakeholders is paramount whereas effective communications of sustainability efforts and outcomes involves compelling content, stakeholder engagement and seeking continuous feedback.
