We sailed the Holiday cruise on 12/14 at 7:20pm which wound up being a polar vortex weekend. While the ferry is enclosed with heaters blowing they honestly couldn’t keep up. Not the company’s fault, they don’t control the weather of course, but while appropriately dressed, it was still quite cold.
Alyssa, our cruise attendant, did an excellent job narrating the cruise! She was peppy and even improvised at one point when her mic was giving her first! She deserves kudos!
Her colleague however, was a distraction. That girl (who is the same one that walked us from the line to the dock) sat next to Alyssa and tapped out on her phone the entire time. Her body language just exuded the fact that she didn’t want to be there.
She turned on the charm at the end when it was time to mention tipping, after Alyssa was done with her narrations. It was just a downer to have someone up front and on display, completely removed from the moment. If she wanted to use the cruise time to catch up on socials and snaps she could have done so out of view by going on the other side of the car where no one was.
Alyssa and all of the gentleman on the dock made up for it though! All super friendly and personable! I’m sure the kiddos on board still loved it.
