Making the decision to place a parent in an assisted living facility is a daunting and frightening task. We all have some pre conceived idea of what's going on. However, from the first phone call to the moment we walked in the front door we had a great experience. Our questions were answered thoroughly with patience and kindness. The staff and residents were warm and out going and made it a point to stop and say hello and many introduced themselves with a warm welcome to boot. The facilities are bright and open and well maintained. The grounds are more like a resort than you would expect at an assisted living facility. When we asked our family member and perspective resident what she thought, her answer pretty much is the best recommendation I can think of. She said, "I feel comfortable and safe here already".

We moved my very independent mom into Heritage Place early this year after she unfortunately fell and broke her hip on Christmas Day. She also suffered a small stroke after her hip surgery. It has been a challenging transition for all of us, however the staff at HP have definitely helped make the move as easy as possible. Mom loves the food! They have many activities for the residents to participate in. Shelia Knowles was so helpful during the admission process. She certainly made a difficult time so much easier. I have to give a shout out to the OT and PT team; Roy and Lillian have helped my mom progress immensely since her admission. The staff is “ Johnny on the spot” when answering the call lights. This feature is a definite plus!
We are also so appreciative of Kristen Steinke, NP who was taken care of mom as needed. Sarah Welch the director is very quick and helpful to respond to any questions and or concerns we have. Thank you!

Watching the staff interact with residents really impressed us. The environment seemed so warm and homey, geared for Seniors’ comfort. We felt a positive atmosphere there….. so we wanted Mom there! She loves it, playing cards, working puzzles , and dining with her new friends!

My family loves the Gardens of Scottsdale. It is managed by wonderful people who genuinely care about our mom. The facility is the perfect size — not too big, and not too small. It is clean, safe, and staffed by compassionate individuals. W Olsen

I have lived here for 3.5 years. Apartments are lovely and I love the balcony. People are nice and friendly. Great exercise program. Rides to Harris Teeter are convenient.Activities are great, especially Rummikub
