Top experience! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful experience on site! It was truly beautiful, and I was able to learn such important new tricks and skills. The vibe and the kindness of the staff were phenomenal! I’d love to come back ♥️

I had an amazing time at Solid Surf. Every person there, the cook, the manager, the teachers value to make you feel like home. To feel safe, cozy, to have a good time and fulfill your needs. I am vegan and there were so many options, I am definitely not just going to miss surfing. Also excursions like skating, going to the souk or to the sand dunes were organized (option) and I basically just had to show up. I know now why the minimum is five days, time flies and you can’t get enough. I will be around ,on the next wave‘ (-You will know who‘s words these are.)

I came to Solid when visiting Mentawai for the first time and had the best time here. All the staff are so welcoming and make the villa feel like home- highly recommend to anyone looking to visit for a surf trip or in general!!
The food is also 10/10

I’m skipping the internal feedback form and going straight to Google, because when I gave feedback early in my stay, I got a extremely long email from the owner gaslighting my feedback and basically giving me the “this is how we work”. That made it clear feedback isn’t really welcome. I bet the owner (who isn’t even at the location) will also respond defensively to this, which to me is a shame and shows youre not willing to improve.
Here’s my honest opinion after staying at Solid Mentawais for 9 nights:
Pluses:
• Great accommodation and facilities – comfy beds, nice bathrooms.

I stayed at the solid surf house in July and was very disappointed. The place needed a lot of work even though it was newly built. I wish I had taken more pictures but why would you want to take pictures of mouldy plaster and damp running up the wall when you’re away. The toilets smelt and outside there was dog poo everywhere.
The host at the camp was nice but on his WhatsApp profile (which the team use to communicate with guests frequently during your stay) he had nude videos of him with full frontal showing, I don’t know how they even hired him or think that’s acceptable. Defiantly not a place for a family or younger travelers.
The only redeeming part was the local staff and the cook who were awesome as always!
Wouldn’t recommend - greed in the mentawais.

I loved my stay! The food was delicious and well presented. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help with anything you need. The surfing here is great, and since the groups are small, you get a lot of personal tips to improve your skills. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

Fantastic stay for 1 week here. Lovely hosts, great company, amazing food and incredible surf. It felt like a family and we wish we were still there! Would recommend to anyone.
