Just replacing an O ring and few washer for a garden tap and charged 273! Just very expensive for 15-30 mins of work!!!

Just had our cooktop replaced and very disappointed by service. Installer appeared inexperienced and the job took a lot longer than expected as he was on the phone seeking advice for quite awhile. Our initial safety concerns were followed up by senior staff and given the all clear. Also take care with quoted pricing as it was exclusive of GST so we got caught out. Won't be using RTL again.

$252 for a lighter made of gold!
My Gas water heater was not igniting. I've contacted RTL and Jaime ( Very nice guy) came and had a quick look and ignited the heater with a lighter.
He confirmed that the igniter was not working, spent about 5 minutes for a quick check and charged me $252
I would justify the price if he had to fix something, but to be charged that amount for 5min work!

Didn't use these guys but did get a quote from them for a small rendering job - it was 4 times higher than one of the other quotes. Could have understood if maybe double but this is just cost gauging - if you don't want the job don't waste the time quoting :-(

Charged me $601 to give me a quote for three items I asked for in my initial call that I needed fixed, they called it a 'roof report'. Was told in my initial call, they would silicon to stop the water ingress. I had to beg the them when they were onsite to do this, they said it wasn't on their worksheet. When I said I will call the office, they agreed to do it. Their quote $20,000 for the three items to be fixed, comparable quote $4,900 which I didn't get charged for by a reputable company to come out and give. Wrote a complaint to RTL Trades and was never responded to.
