They started off selling a very polished image and a professional outfit for what, at most times, would be a turnkey solution. The problem, like all other accounting services, is it’s the accountants who is directly assigned to you that is key. Whoever was assigned to me at the start was, at times, challenging my previous providers for “worst accountant”, directing me to my own tax software to get interpretations of liabilities etc.
What a breath of fresh air to have been reassigned to Jimmy (I believe his predecessor left the firm). I now have confidence in the figures and the outstanding liabilities, and I actually get detailed responses to my actual questions!
Long story short, can’t say if Clever are much better or worse than the rest of the market, but can definitely say they recruited well by bringing in Jimmy.
