We have used Kaplan’s sealcoating division for a number of years and were satisfied with the quality of work. For this reason, when we were ready to replace our driveway, we got a quote from them and ultimately decided to have them do the work. We decided to add a brick border and Joe came out several times until we were satisfied with the design. The staff was pleasant to work with, particularly the installation crews who worked very hard. The quality of their work is excellent, but we had difficulty getting phone calls and emails returned, having coupons honored and a clear understanding of what was included in the 3 year warranty. We did not have the warranty paperwork until the job was done. Given the amount of work they do in our area, they also did not have complete knowledge of our village’s codes, which required us to put in the brick border at the street apron. This is not something we wanted to do. In the end, we would recommend Kaplan due to their quality of work, but be sure to have everything is writing prior to the work completion and be prepared to deal with communication lapses.
