Richard is not only a highly capable English Language tutor with a vast understanding of all aspects of the course, but is also excellent at explaining these topics and tactics in a variety of ways to ensure I fully understood the concept or idea.
Richard has a wide range of resources at his disposal including summary sheets of the relevant metalanguage and instructions with step by step walkthroughs of how to write a high scoring analytical commentary or expository essay.
Richard is highly devoted to seeing his students excel, going out of his way to assist and advice, even outside of tutoring hours.
Throughout all our sessions, Richard brought this energy and air of confidence which he was able to impart onto me; he gave the impression that English Language, with the correct guidance, is straight forward and manageable.

Richard’s English Language tutoring was the best thing to happen to me in 2020. His methods of teaching and interacting with me before each lesson, after each lesson and even out of session times, greatly helped me push through the hurdles of Year 12 English and to continue striving for my goals. He provided me with the necessary tools, such as cheat sheets for all the three components of English Language and a comprehensive list of metalanguage, to allow me to undertake SACs and the exam to my fullest ability.

I have had less than 5 sessions with Richard and have learnt so many tips and tricks with short answer, analytical commentary and essay writing as well as how to get the most marks out of my responses. I have seen results in the way that I write and structure my pieces and the documents available to his students have been a really useful tool when struggling with formatting, ideas or metalanguage terms. The quality of his feedback in the personal sessions are extremely helpful as to know what I should work on and the delivery of the appropriate information is very clear and concise. It is very evident that Richard has a high understanding of this subject and I would highly recommend his tutoring to anyone.

I started with Richard late in the year but doing weekly group sessions, even for a short while, has really helped me with my confidence and skills in English Language. He has heaps of great resources and can explain important concepts in a very clear and understandable manner.

Perfect tutor. Has both great online lessons and plenty of additional resources. Includes multiple times to answer questions in each lesson. Overall great at demystifying difficult topics within this subject as well as teaching good practice and formulas that your teachers may have missed .

I attended the VCE English Language Revision lecture on the 24th of September 2021 :) It was great! Richard provided us with some really great tips, structures and formulas that we could follow and be guided by in our exam responses. I would definitely recommend him as a tutor! He's very easy going and genuinely wants to help his students achieve the best they can!
