Forma Gym San Jose

Was fortunate enough to get a 50 minute massage by Aja at Forma Gym. She has an incredible gift when it comes to sensing what pressure is perfectly suited specifically for you. Very relaxing and untangling at the same time. Highly recommend. Very pleased with the gym too. So far have attended classes by Michelle and Tom and I'm delighted with both!

I come here mostly for GROOV3 class on Wed Nights w/Susan & Kerry! I used to come Tues's & Sunday's HH class but since I moved to Milpitas, it's harder due to traffic and just the long distance. I just started taking Susan's Pilates Reformer class and I'm hooked! Love the new renovation and staff are friendly!

Best gym I've been to in my 20 years of training, love the turf training area, great addition!!

I just had the most kick ass barre class by Yuki! He's brilliant! Highly recommend it! You don't know what your missing!

Been with Forma for about 4 months and I absolutely love this place! The staff is very friendly, and they make you feel like family! I'm a new mom and the Kidzville staff is great! I love everyone who I've come to know. They've taken such good care of my 14 month old while I'm sweating it out. I recently signed up for Pilates; I've only been able to take Susan and Yuki's class, and so far I am very impress by their knowledge on the reformer. And I'm already seeing results. Loving the outside pool as well, and I've noticed they have two TRX station. One inside and one outside! :) Loving all their new machines! Simple and easy to understand. Overall, I'm really happy I chose Forma over all other gyms.

The new equipment and added classes are great. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Woman's locker room is very clean. Outdoor pool heated all year long and love the sauna.

Clean, a step up from your regular gym. Just better quailty all the way around. Plus they have pilates classes and an awesome swim pool and sauna ;-) gotta love that.

Robert is a big flake. He promised equipment and is now ignoring me. He is not doing what he agreed to. He has been giving me the run around for the past two weeks. However, there has been no issues with the gym taking my monthly dues.

Since the shelter in place the gym is completely radio silent. No updates on what their plan is to reopen, what they’ll do about sanitation, what’s the plan with billing etc. Nothing. They expect you to keep paying and do not answer emails or calls. I understand staffing may be minimal at the moment, but what’s the excuse for not sending out a group email once a week to keep people updated on the topics I mentioned? Why can’t someone send a email back within two weeks? Why not have an auto response to your email with instructions if you plan on not reading them? All of this is poor management of a terrible situation. They’re going to lose more members due to this handling than the fear of being in a gym after a pandemic. It’ll be interesting to see if they survive at all.

Shelter in place options need to be posted on the Forma website and emails sent to all members with membership options offered. Please respect the fact that many of your members may not be working and getting paid right now.

Dishonest management. I was a Forma gym member from 2006 to 2019. Went through 3 to 4 different management companies. Current management lied and cheated me out of service as promised. Long story short. Employee blatantly lied to me and when reported to manager he offered me a complimentary massage for the inconvenience and for his employees' disrespect. We have since canceled our membership in June as we've moved out of the area. I tried to schedule my complementary massage and they say they have no record of it and the manager has no recollection. This is untrue. I have repeatedly requested the manager to come through on his promise and he continues to deny and does not even return the calls himself. I reported the incident to higher management three times with no response. Bottom line, don't trust this establishment. They act as if they will take care of your needs, but when it comes down to it they turn their back on you. Furthermore, management tries to position this gym as a luxury facility. That is a joke. Equipment often fails, takes weeks to fix. Showers are a mess. Shower remodel already has mold. Can't figure out how to control pool temperature. Indoor and outdoor Jacuzzi's often closed for repair. Hard-working maintenance and janitorial staff stretched too thin. Fitness classes schedules don't meet all members needs. Rate increases inconsistent. Moving on to greener pastures. Villa Sport Roseville. Gorgeous brand new facility. Management that truly cares. They have one in San Jose. I would check it out.

Yesterday was too crowded and there was this female member who was too loud it was annoying!

I recently cancelled my membership. Not "high end" at all, despite what they call themselves. I primarily went for yoga and swimming. The pool has been so many shades of green I lost count. Low end yoga props and poor quality environment. Years of lip service for expanding yoga classes, equipment and environment. Great yoga instructors Barbara, Marty and Tom but after a substantial monthly fee increase I said good bye.

They profile and discriminate here. Hopefully you fit the appearance of 'what someone should look like' to enter this gym, or inquire about a membership. My fiancé overheard an employee ( Tom) accusing him of looking shady and that he fits the appearance of a thief, so "watch him"- because he's brown and wearing a hood? So sad that we still deal with this BS. Perhaps they should provide their employees better training to prevent profiling and discrimination. One persons money is no better than another's- Wake up!!

***I WAS WRONGLY PROFILED HERE*** Based on my APPEARANCE I was thought of as an individual that may commit theft. I am a small business owner that owns my own practice, if anyone owns a small business knows that you are always looking for ways to write off expenses. I work in the health and wellness field, so gym memberships tend to fall under this category; therefore, I was looking for a "higher-end" gym to essentially have a recurring expense that I could write off come tax time. This is why I was looking into Forma. There were no membership advisers available, so the front desk attendant was kind enough to let me take a look around on my own. As I was walking up to the second level to check out the group X room, I overheard several comments at the front desk by a gentleman named Tom, talking about how I dressed, my attire, that gave him the suspicion that I might have ill intentions. At which point he happened to looked up and see my staring down at the conversation. He tried to eat his words, but the damage had been done. I walked down, expressed my disappointment that an establishment such as this, in 2017, in the BAY AREA would even consider profiling an individual based on appearance, or gender, or age, or ethnicity, etc. for that matter. He said to me and I quote, "there have been a lot of thefts lately." To which I stated, "so I guess I fit the description...right??" I then thanked the hospitable front desk person for his time, asked TOM for his name and walked out the door. The General Manager and Corporate will be hearing from me soon enough. There is no excuse for these kind of actions.
