A few years back in 2018 you were one of the advisors I spoke with during career counselling sessions. Since then I know I followed up once, but I've been doing Software Engineering at Ontario Tech. I ended up landing a pretty good OPG engineering internship for 12-16 months that'll really open some doors for me. I wanted to thank you for talking with me back then and helping me figure out the avenue I wanted to guide my career choices.

Notes on Sandra – I would say that she has been true to what Alan mentioned – warm but firm, which is what I was looking for. The truth is 4 sessions goes by pretty fast so our times been fairly jam packed. She’s provided great resources and things to think about at each session. I appreciated her frankness in her feedback and she’s also been mindful, conscious of the time that I had and that I wanted to make the most of each connection. I would definitely recommend this service to others. As far as what I was looking for (motivation, focus and forward momentum to keep going during this challenging time), it’s been endlessly valuable for that. Lastly, I would say that I appreciated Sandra’s ability to succinctly capture what I was often challenged to articulate. It a) made me feel understood but also most importantly provided me with b) an understanding of how I might strengthen and improve how I package myself – which is ultimately also what I was looking for. Happy to found this resource!

Note that this career exploration process is just that: an exploration. If you're hoping to just do a test to tell you what you should do, this isn't it. You've got to do the work and create the mental time and space to explore all the moving parts, but it's worth it. And you will feel empowered as you do so with a guide on your journey like Laurie.
