Way too expensive! The prices are outrageous! Definitely not worth it in my opinion. And the server was pushy, a no-no.

The food was delicious and truly healthy— we enjoyed the cauliflower starter, pizza and the spicy Penang curry bowl. Service, on the other hand, needs a lot of improvement. We were there yesterday (Saturday), and had made reservations for lunch. The male host who we spoke to seemed very cold, took a long time to think which table to give us then eventually led us to this random table that was right at the entrance and the nearest to where people were standing and waiting. He did not speak to us nor tell us where to give our orders. We had to look for our own waitress and ask for a menu as the QR code on our table wouldn’t work. Finally our friendly waitress got our orders and guess how long it took for our food to come out — 45 minutes. From being seated at 1:15pm, it wasn’t until 2pm for the food to arrive. There were 4 hosts so considering how many there were, we should have been accommodated much better— not just left seated on some random middle table in the walkway, looking for our own waitress. To make things worse, the bathroom was very dirty. The only enjoyable thing was the food. Our overall experience was not pleasant and I will only consider coming back once they fix these alarming issues.

Ordered the ancient grains with chicken and the edamame dumplings. Dumplings came out ice cold with ice cold broth. Ancient grains bowl did not taste good at all. They left black crisp onions in there, not sure why they did. Ate some of the chicken and picked at the grains and other parts but left 80% untouched. Ended vomiting it up when got home. Sever never really asked if it was good and didn’t comment on the u touched food so we didn’t say anything. We don’t like to complain. But will probably not be back. The Bethesda location was better. Also I don’t know why they put hot sauce in the ancient grains bowl. It’s not on the menu. It’s not pleasant at all.

I ordered soup along with my pick up order and it was not in the order. I wanted to confirm my order before I picked up but there was no one at the pick up counter when I picked up the food so I waited for several minutes but no one showed up so I left to find out half my food order was missing. One of the servers even saw I was waiting but did not come to help. BAD service. Please put pick up orders behind counter so no one steals food and staff the pick up counter!

Amazing location! Beautiful patio! This is the third time I go there and ask for an outdoor table that they tell me they cannot sit me outiside, only inside. There were plenty empty tables ouside every time. I will not be coming here again. Other locations have better service.

Wanted to have dinner here last night with my partner b/c as we enjoyed our food during our last visit. It was about 8:15pm and although there were several outdoor seats, we were denied outdoor seating, being shown a table by the window instead. Over the next 15 minutes, we watched three parties that were given seats outside. To add to our frustration, the waitress served me the wrong beer, so we asked for the check before ordering dinner. After the waitress brought us the check for one drink, the manager stepped in and tried to convince us to stay, stating: "of course you can sit outside", which was contradictory to what we were told by both the hostess and the waitress. At that point, our experience had already been ruined so we decided to leave. Somehow their staff does not seem well aligned nor in tune with their customers. May not ever go back...

Will never go again. Just wanted to enjoy a drink & appetizers before our movie. Bartender paid more attention to cleaning than to the few people at her bar. Delivered dirty plates to us to eat from. Forgot our water. Bartender had a bad attitude & she was unfriendly, not just to us but to the woman next to us, who was equally horrified by how she was treated & spoken to. Food was truly TERRIBLE! How do you put 3 Tablespoons of canned corn on a cracker & a little wet cheese & charge someone for that? A 5 year old could make it better! At least I ordered a bourbon on the rocks to ease the disappointment, my friend's $20 mixed drink was so weak, we both think there was no alcohol at all in it. People go out to have a good time; they don't want your poor attitude--it's not that hard to turn a bad experience around if you're charming & kind to your customers, honestly.

We will never be coming back here again. After making our reservation for 12:45, it took us 15 minutes to get seated (no one was at the host stand and we were with a crowd of people who were also waiting), another 10-15 to get our drink order (we had to ASK the hostess where our waitress was and then she finally came over), and then an hour to get our food out. The restaurant was only 1/3 full. People who sat down half an hour after us had finished up eating and were getting their checks and we still had not received our food. We asked our waitress what was taking so long and she just said very unapologetically “it’s the system.” What system serves other people who sit 30 minutes AFTER you their food and you are still waiting for yours? We even spoke to the manager who said she would take care of it on our check and give us a dessert as an apology and she did NEITHER of those. We received the full check amount and no dessert was brought out. We will never be returning back here. It’s a shame because we were regulars going there at least once a month before but this was shameful.

Rude staff. My husband, child, and I were turned away from an EMPTY restaurant and told there were many reservations coming in. When I asked if it was a restaurant buy out, I was told "no" and that staffing that day was limited. We were not prompted to make a reservation online or told of how long a wait would be. The host's hesitation gave us all the answers we needed. It was literally an awkward stand-off of us just looking at each other. When it was clear we would not be accommodated, I told my family we could try another restaurant. The host simply said "I'm sorry! Have a nice day!" My daughter, who is only 13, was so hurt and confused by the interaction. That said, if you don't welcome a certain type of clientele, be bold. Put a sign on the door so we know to avoid this establishment for poor treatment.

The ambiance and restraunt location are great. However, we had a disappointing first experience at this location. The burger I ordered came out overcooked and burnt. I reordered, and the second time, it came out completely raw. The burger was literally purple inside. Interestingly, the couple next to us had a similar problem. It's not a cheap restaurant so you would expect that they would at least be able to cook a burger.

Horrible customer service. Made a reservation, but once there, they said we have to wait for 15 min, then 30 min, which turned into 1 hour and still no seats for us. The host was unapologetic and actually told us they “over booked because people tend to cancel reservations” and that they have 6 other overbooked reservations for the same time frame! So just imagine … 15 min time slots … how many people did they overbook? Also, there was another unhappy customer complaining about being seated for 2 hours with no food! Another they need to wait for 1.5 hours for the food once seated; they had to leave without food.

This restaurant location is not great with allergies or food intolerances despite what the menu says. I’ve been to the Mosaic and Bethesda True Foods many times but am not coming back to this location. To celebrate my friends new job, I recommended this restaurant because it accommodates so many peoples’ different types of diets, but that wasn’t the case tonight. After informing the waiter, I had a gluten allergy, I ordered a gluten-free pizza. It took me a few slices to realize the pizza wasn’t gluten-free, I left dinner early and ran home to take breathing medication after realizing their mistake. I’m almost 9 months pregnant and had tried to avoid medication most of the pregnancy because the safety profile for pregnant women isn’t clear, but I was so sick and was forced to take it tonight. The restaurant did comp my pizza, but the dinner for our entire party of 6 was dampened for everyone out of concern for me. It so wasn’t worth being sick all night. This location needs better safety protocols in place to actually accommodate what they advertise.

Please check your takeout order before leaving. Twice I have ordered (and besides having to wait another 20 minutes when I arrive) each time I get home I find something missing from my order. Aside from that, the pizza crust was hard as cement. I’m really losing my patience with True Food Kitchen. Please do better.

Not impressed. Could not get a refill for a drink to save my life. Service was sub-par, like they were annoyed as soon as they finally served us (took them a while, even though the place had a hand full of guests), and gave us the same treatment till the very end. Food was okay, some dishes lacked in flavor, one dish was decent but overall not worth the money. 0/10 would not recommend.

This was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. Our reservations were at 7, got seated right away, had drink orders taken around 7:15 and it didn’t arrive until 8:25 after several reminders! The waiter kept reassuring us it was coming but apparently the order was never in. We had to go to the bar to inquire. Then we didn’t get our food until 9:15. We asked another employee to check on it and he was honest and said the food order was also never put in. He told our waiter that in front of us, and the waiter denied it. The worst part is they said they would comp all our drinks, which was only 4 in total, and they only comped one. Terrible service, terrible follow up, and unfortunately lied about the discount to make up for waiting over an hour for drinks and over two hours for food. They charged my sisters card a higher amount as well and then said they reversed it, but that remains to be seen. Just all around bad. Go elsewhere so you can use your money wisely. I also need to mention that they knew we were celebrating my husbands birthday. It was incredible the amount of empty promises our waiter kept giving us and then telling us it was a busy night when only half of the restaurant was full. True Food ruined my husbands birthday.

Very very disappointing!! The food came out cold!! And burnt so I couldn’t even eat it. The service was really bad too! . And the food was even tasteless once we finally got it. When I got home I was so hungry I ate leftovers in the fridge and it tasted better than anything from true foods. This was my third time at true foods and I will never go back. Every time I think I mis ordered. But I have not liked anything I have ordered. I would not recommend this place at all.

Nice concept and pleasant staff, but the food quality is TERRIBLE. Bland, overcooked, and poorly plated. We had the seabass, Korean steak, margherita pizza, tuna tostada, hummus, and a salmon salad. The Korean steak was the worst offender. I guarantee you that a hockey puck has more flavor. Ordering the steak medium does not help. It still came out nearly well. Just sad. Next was the tuna tostada that looked like slop on the plate. What made the tostada really bad was the poor quality of tuna. Pieces of the tuna were smashed and looked like purina cat chow. You can get a better quality tuna next door. Then we have the Margherita pizza… to say it was dry is an understatement. So bad I had to snap a pic…. Basil anyone? I couldn’t find any. Maybe they used the dry variety. The seabass was underwhelming… the chopped up broccolini made me feel like I was a toddler. The dish was also dry and…. umami where? All of the wine glasses on the table were dirty… food debris, lipstick, fingerprints…even the waitress was disgusted. Drinks were decent but mostly ice. I was so excited to try this restaurant out for my birthday and left utterly disappointed. So much so, I went for appetizers in Crown immediately after so my tastebuds would stop crying. I understand this place has only been open about 4 months, but I doubt I will return. $200 later it was an ULTIMATE FAIL.
