Worst customer service ever - dumpy cabin with ratty dirty furniture, no Wi-Fi (wrong code - we'll send someone to fix it tomorrow - never happened), and ''extra'' charges for everything - and when you leave, you must pack up your garbage and haul it away in your car, and get charged if you don't wash all your dishes. This is just a big money-making operation with inadequate staff all around. ''you can check in now, but we'll charge you an extra $25., or you can come back in an hour and check in for free!'' Find yourself ANY other place - avoid this company!

AVOID THIS BOOKING COMPANY AT ALL COST! To begin with, we were promised a cabin with a hill. The girl said she lived right there and knew there was a hill. That was a lie, the hill part anyway. Then we paid for early check in to find out we could pull in drive way due to the snow and ice covering it, and would have to wait for a service to come. Meanwhile, it is illegal to park on street. Then we get into cabin, and the chairs around the dinning area are about to fall apart. All of them wobbled and most had major cracks in them. Not to mention the broken beer bottle in the back yard my 8year old son found. Lucky he didn’t get hurt. Then I went to take a bath and it leaked to the floor below. When I asked several times to speak w a manger, I was told one would call me. It’s been three weeks. (I asked before we even walked in the cabin. This property is pretty close to the slopes, that was the upside. But there are about 100 properties in that same neighborhood, I would choose one of those over one representatives by Big Bear Vaction Rentals. All They care about is getting your money. They do Not take care of property or you and will lie to you to get you to book w them . And once you do, they will lie to you to get you to go away. I was told every time I called (probably 5 times), the manger wasn’t available and would call me back. LIE! Just like the agent who took our money over the phone promising the hill. It was my only requirement to booking. I didn’t mind driving yo the slopes. I wanted a hill where my six children could sled together or individual and not force everyone to do same. That girl LIED! And this company knows it because they record their phone calls. Not one person tried to make this lie better. We are going up again in a few weeks and we will NOT be using this company. They flat out suck in customer service, ethics, and professionalism. Do what you will, but read the reviews! We can’t all be wrong.

Ive tried writing the following to the company multiple times with no response... Hello there. I just wanted to write you about the property we stayed at this weekend. We were quite disappointed. The main couch and the full bed upstairs are so incredibly rock hard and uncomfortable I didnt get hardly any sleep nor could my boys relax after boarding because there was no place for them to get comfortable. On top of that, I think you need a new cleaning crew. The place was dirty! Dirty utensils, pots and pans, all the floors were crusty, couches were covered in visible hair and dirt, cobwebs in most corners and on most light fixtures. For $300 in cleaning fees, I was appalled.I also had to kill 3 termites (hopefully they were termites) and 2 spiders. After seeing dead bugs and killing bugs I freaked out trying to fall asleep the second night. My daughter froze in the bunk bed room because theres no heat in there. I just feel like for all the fees we were charged, too many corners were cut. If this is a reflection of how Big Bear Vacations treats their properties, we wont be booking with Big Bear Vacations again.

Very disappointing, we arrived to a cabin that had not been cleaned, we found poop next to one of the beds. A lot of the utilities barely worked. Overall a very disappointing experience.

I couldn’t get in to my cabin due to the ice that was in the drive way. My car got stuck, a next door neighbor helped pushing my car out of the ice. I called to place the work order and they told me it may take hours until someone comes out because they were busy. So I canceled and asked for my refund because I wasn’t able to wait hours outside freezing cold with three children. Now they are giving hard time for refunding my money. I spoke to Christina the “Manager” said that she would talk to her accountant to refund my money and it would take couple of days for them to Do so, but that never happened and she is not answering my calls anymore. I called my credit card and disputed the charges.

They need to improve the check in process. If you know check in is 4pm, staff accordingly. It took an hour and 15 minutes to check in; which left us arriving at the cabin in the dark. They definitely need to audit the cleaners or find more help; I was appalled by the spiderwebs in the bathrooms, dust in every room, and sheets that had hair on them. The extra blankets and pillows were thrown into the closets (who knows when they were washed last). Not even sure if it was vacuumed. Dishes were dirty and fireplace was FULL of ash (with the burnt log from last visitors placed outside). After checking out I received a survey VIA email. It asked if there was "anything that needs to be replaced or updated". My thoughts are they should be checking the cabins they manage, if not, how do they know what were renting. Overall costs of the cabin for 2 nights plus fees (cleaning and service charges) was expensive for what we received. I travel for business and have never experienced such conditions.

This place is so poorly prepared for their check in system. They have about 100 people line up at 4pm instead of staggering. So it takes hourssssss over 2 hours standing in a line. Many of the guests rooms were not ready after standing in the line and were told to come back. They were nice enough but very slow. Paperwork issues that they just point people to a kiosk to fix. Overall, nice people, poorly prepared, very bad check in system. If they had a larger check in time window it would help. I do not recommend booking through them unless you have to.

Checkin process is unacceptable. Told we cant checkin until 4pm, showed up, have been in lone for an hour and counting. Filled in paperwork online beforehand, being told i have to do more paperwork. Not organized at all, terrible communication, i'm losing a whole day of my trip. Avoid this if you can

I had rated this place 5 stars in the past. But now I wish I could give them minus 5 we rented a cabin called beary necessary nice cabin but. We got there like around 9:30pm. First things my kids noticed was the bathroom was dirty. Someone had used the toilet and not flashed it (CACA). The other was the beds were never changed. Hairs all over the pillow cases,sheets and blankets and also the worst part there was white stuff on some of the blankets. The showers were never cleaned. The kitchen the frying pans and plates were just put away dirty. The internet. Did not work. I called to complain. One of the in charge person came like almost at 1am when I had called at 9:50pm 3 hours later brought me a bunch blankets sheets and pillow cases and said. This is all I can do for you. Call later today at 7am the office. I had to change all the beds do their work. My family slept in on the sofas. All around it was the worst experience I have ever had. I have stayed with them in past and rated them 5 stars but after this they won't see me at all 1 star. They were full of apologies. They did not relocate us we stayed there for 4 nights. Just nasty. We had a fire in the house we rented through Bigbearvacationrentals. I called the emergency phone line to let them know the house was on fire and 911 was called. No one ever called us back to finfd out if we were alright or to get any details. The fire department said the smoke alarms were not functioning. I let the office manager know when we checked out early the next morning and she did not seem very concerned. This has left my family and myself concerned about the lack of care for human life that this company has.

On behalf of my employer, I rented a 5 bedroom cabin for 5 weeks in August of last year for an athlete to prepare for a competition. I stayed there as well. The cabin was huge, fully furnished and slept about 10 persons. It was a bit expensive but the experience was great. Unfortunately, we had to cut the stay short due to an injury to the athlete. We still had about 2 1/2 weeks left. Due to the early departure, I had come to an agreement in writing with Big Bear Vacations, who had said they’ve received approval from the cabin owner to credit me just over $1,000.00 to use within one year. Early this May, I emailed two reps, one being the manager to reserve some dates to use my credit towards the cabin in June, July or August. I rarely received a response. I’ve followed up on a weekly basis and it would be 2 weeks before they responded with no assistance whatsoever just short questions to delay. It is now September and I have emailed them weekly still to no resolution or No offer to refund the credit. I’ve been very patient and kind to this matter but unfortunately I will have to bring in my employer legal counsel to settle this matter. I highly recommend Big Bear Lake for a vacation. It’s wonderful! Big Bear Vacations gave me a great cabin but the customer service is horrible.

This management facility sucks. They charge for everything but don't make sure that the cabin is in good shape. We did not have a clean barbeque, but they tell you not to clean it, the house smelled of smoke throughout, spider webs everywhere and then quess what- they charged 50 dollars for two garbage bags when we had delivered the garbage to the site they told us to. My suspicion is that they are not honest people and money is there primary goal. Be careful they don't charge your account without telling you!

We just stayed at Marina view cabin this past weekend, 6 adults. We payed around $800 for just two nights. Out of all the places I have booked for vacation this was a disappointment. Too many rules, don't move the furniture, wash all dishes, drive your own trash to one of two designated disposal sites(if not its $25 charge per trash bag, $25 for leaving a dish or moving a piece of furniture) Check in isn't until 4pm, and check out is at 10am(hotel check out is at noon). For early check in and later check out its each a charge of $25. They don't offer AC just two fans for the 3 floors. For the price we payed we could have booked hotel rooms with all the amenities, AC, pool, free early check in and check out. overall the best part of the vacation was the 2018 KIA minivan we rented, and the gentleman who checked us in has great customer service.

Do not book with this company unless you are absolutely sure your plans will not change. They will take 10% of your total reservation amount if cancelled BEYOND 30 days of the reservation. There are other companies out there that will not charge a fee unless its within 30 days of the reservation. I was just charged $200.00 for cancelling roughly 90 days out and gave them the opportunity to make it right before writing this. I will never use them again.

Terrible experience as a property owner. They predicted it would be rented 100 nights a year but hasn’t rented at all for the last four months. Their search criteria is defective. If a person looks for a house that sleeps 8 they see only houses that Sleep exactly 8. Our house sleeps 14 so it does not show up if people are searching for only 8 people or even 12 people. Cleaning crew cannot deal with property owner requests to use special cleaning products such as stone cleaners for granite and slate surfaces.
