Where to start...I guess I'll start by saying that I pretty much NEVER leave reviews for companies - neither good nor bad. It's just not something I take the time to do but I felt compelled to do so in this case.
I contacted several different companies to get an estimate for a new garage and concrete driveway before I found Fisher Garages. In fact, when Mike returned my call, he was very surprised I had even found him because his webpage was so new that he wasn't even aware it had "gone live" yet. I believe I was his first sales call.
Of the five estimates I got, Fisher was neither the least nor the most expensive. Mike came in right in the middle somewhere but Mike made me feel far more comfortable than any of the other sales people I'd spoken to. Some of the other guys ranged from obnoxious to OCD to downright creepy. Mike was a regular guy who was not only willing to go the extra mile to get the job but also was super eager to understand what we wanted and make sure we got it. Despite the fact that his company was brand new, Mike came with decades of experience in garage building at the head of a large, very well-known local garage builder before they were purchased by another company that ran it into the ground.
I'm not going to say that we didn't run into a few snags during the process of doing the garage and driveway. It was a big job and I expected things might come up here and there. In all honesty, under normal circumstances, the problems we saw may have caused me to deduct a star in the rating. HOWEVER, the real test is how the company reacts to problems and Mike handled them all with real class. One example is the day that the concrete guy (one that Mike said he will never use again by the way) showed up with his crew and inexplicably just decided he wasn't doing the job anymore. I was stunned and Mike was shocked but he didn't panic (I know I would have freaked-out if I were in his shoes at that moment) and assured me he would have a new guy out as soon as possible. Within a week he had a new guy out pouring concrete.
My wife and I are thrilled with the final product! It took longer than we were hoping for with the suburban permitting process and a lunatic original concrete guy but the garage and driveway look great! If you go beyond the number of stars and read this review, the main point I'd like to get across is that you paying for a general contractor to bring-together all the different people it will take to build your garage. That person's responsibility is to make sure all the different groups are doing what they're supposed to be doing when they're supposed to be doing it AND react quickly and professionally when they are not. NOBODY will do that job for you better than Mike Fisher and Fisher Garages.
