Sam Ivy K-9 Consultants was just what we needed!! Miguel was awesome, he was patient, friendly, professional and very detailed. We saw immediate changes in Abby (our dog) after day one and we are so happy that we did the Intermediate on-leash program!

HIGHLY recommend Sam Ivy! Out trainer Alexis was amazing. She gave us the tools to train our dog Rowan, so that we can continue to do so even after finishing the program. She was knowledgeable, flexible, and so fun to work with. We completed the off-leash program. Not only is it incredibly cool to be able to take your dog off leash, but it is a whole different lifestyle we have now that we are able to communicate effectively with our dog. She has made herself available for any questions we might have, even after we have finished the program. So grateful to her for helping us train our pup in a way we never thought was possible!

I have to admit that at first I was skeptical. We had just adopted a new dog that had severe fear aggression towards people. At the beginning she was all growls, barks and snaps with anyone besides me, and even I handled her with care. Even myhusband, who is loved by all animals and children, could get near her for a few days after we got her. That’s no life for a dog so I was referred to Sam Ivy. When I met with them I was told that the training would build Lizzie’s confidence and help her overcome her fears. Our Trainer Deanna Green has worked wonders and it is amazing how much this training has helped. Just last weekend we took her to a nail trimming event at a local pet store. Not only did she not growl at anyone, she was calm and relaxed while we waited in line and actually let a boy scratch her chin when I had turned my back for a moment. Our other dog is an uncontrollable overly excited knucklehead. He underwent training at the same time with my husband. Deanna gave us the tools that we needed and we’re now able to walk him with no problems. I’m so impressed and I can’t thank Deanna and Sam Ivy enough.

This is the only thing that worked. We had a free consultation when Jackson was a puppy and ended up not going with his package. Everyone in our neighborhood knew to avoid us and our dog because he would bark at them. After 3 years of battling with a dog that didn’t listen when on leash we decided to give Sam Ivy the try they deserved. After the first session I thought why didn’t we do this earlier. Our trainer Alexis was AMAZING. She genuinely cared about us and our dogs behavior. She was very thorough in her explanation of the training and quickly got Jackson to behave. Alexis made trainings something to look forward to. My wife and I enjoyed the training sessions around town at Armature Works, Curtis Hixon, Sparkman Wharf, and Hyde Park during their Sunday Market! These were all places we would never dream of bringing our dog due to his behavior. After training we are comfortable bringing him anywhere. I almost forgot, Alexis took a bunch of photos throughout the training sessions and shared them all with us when Jackson graduated. It was not something we knew was going to happen, but was great to see the different days of training and Jackson’s progression. It was a nice touch! We got our dog back and it has changed our lives. my experience with Sam Ivy and specifically Deanna so far has been amazing. i look forward to every session. her advice for when i’m on my own is very helpful and keeps me and my pup on track. and she’s always available via text whenever i randomly have questions about a training situation. i appreciate that it’s results-based and not a set number of sessions. i have seen a significant transformation in bear’s behavior since beginning training. we’ve had 4 sessions and he is proving to be a perfect boy in the making already! this is the only dog training company i would trust for my bear.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY! When I first got my dog, he was a completely uncontrollable psycho. It got to the point where after having for ONLY 4 weeks, I was contemplating getting rid of him. I didn't want to get rid of him because he has a great personality. He just also, unfortunatley, had some really bad behavioral problems that needed to be addressed. After hours of trying (and miserably failing) to train him myself, I decided to look for some outside help. I found Sam Ivy online through a quick google search and decided to schedule a consultation with Sam himself. Sam came to my house and sat down with me and my dog (who was wildly darting around the house, barking, jumping on us, chewing on furniture, etc) and laid out a few training options for me. I chose the intermediate on-leash program. We just completed this training program a few days ago, and I could not be more satisfied with the results. Deanna was my trainer and she was absolutely AWESOME. She was very accomodating to my schedule and was even able to work some weekends in. He's like a completely different dog! He knows what he is and is not allowed to do now, and most importantly he respects me as the leader of the house and LISTENS to what I say. If you are considering using Sam Ivy K9 Consultants -- DO IT!!!
