I knew Micato’s reputation as the “best of the best” safari operator, but it’s one thing to read about it and another to actually experience it. From the moment we arrived at the airport in Nairobi, every conceivable detail was managed expertly. Even more impressive than the logistics excellence, however, was the genuine warmth and kindness that our family received from every single person we interacted with. I’d recommend a Micato safari for anyone, but I think it’s particularly special for a family group. Because every detail of the trip was handled so flawlessly by Micato, our whole group was freed up to simply be together and marvel at the unique beauty of our surroundings. While every Micato person was amazing, our safari director Philip warrants a special shout out. He has a deep wealth of knowledge on seemingly everything, is kind and wise, and so clearly loves his work. Our group came upon two lionesses and their eight cubs playing in the tall grass late one afternoon. As we watched them in silence from 20 feet away for over an hour, I think Philip was even more excited than we were. I’ve heard similar stories from many other Micato travelers about their safari directors. It's so clear that Micato is the type of company that attracts and retains remarkable people. A few weeks after we got home, our family was talking about other possible destinations for future travel. My first choice would definitely be another safari with Micato. It’s hard to imagine any place more magical, and impossible to imagine a company that could create a more wonderful safari experience.
