The PrepCast worked for me greatly, suggested to me by a friend who passed his PMP exam in first attempt. I only had a limited time to study this and attempt. Initially, I booked exam for 22nd on 10th of Dec but after attempting the 10 questions' small tests on PrepCast, my confidence level increased and I realized that I can pass my test in first attempt so pushed my exam date another 8 days. And YES, I did pass on the very first attempt. The questions in actual PMP exam were worded a bit different than PrepCast (for certain), but attempting 4 full tests on PrepCast gave me the whole idea of what am I up against.
Studying is definitely a must. I had access to Barbra Walter's videos from my job, which helped me make notes in ZIM Wiki to summarize my brain dumps for revisions. Multiple attempts on all the topics increased visibility on topics and it was amazing.
What can be improved in PrepCast is, giving choice of mixing the topics together for random tests rather than selecting one topic only. Because when you are attempting the one topic, you already know some of the answers. But when you are mixing the topics together then you get to pay a bit more attention.
One thing which is important is that in real PMP exam, the review screen came right after 90 question and I had no choice other than reviewing and then proceeding to rest of 110 questions. Whereas PrepCast simulator offers review of all questions at the end... So when using PrepCast, do it yourself so that you've a better idea of time management.
