Finding out, for example, that I had specific Asian ancestry turned out to map perfectly with my life-long affinity for such cultures. As a lad of 15 (I'm 62 now), I started my journey learning Chinese Shaolin Kung-Fu (Praying Mantis Style), and even in Junior High, I studied about Taoism and Buddhism as a personal interest. Furthermore, I'd always had an avid interest in Origami, and various Japanese cultural aspects also, mapping well to what was revealed by your excellent reports. Another bit of trace ancestry, finding out that as a partial Mexican (and Colombian, & more), I now feel an even stronger bond to my state of residence, California, moreso than when I previously discovered my partial European Spanish background. With ancestry from all over Europe, Asia, and Africa, so many family mysteries were solved. Things that were only hinted at and not talked about, for in earlier days of the US, the fact that you were "mixed-race" was simply not admitted to by most Euro-derived colonists. Now, it can not only not be denied, it can now be celebrated openly. With all the ancestry I've discovered, I find I am truly a "Man of Earth". Thank you, CRI Genetics!
