We are very proud of how well Gambit is doing! We will monitor his interactions with his neighbors to see how well they get along with a view to introducing them properly when Gambit is ready. It is a slow process, but Gambit is making such big strides! #GambitsJourney 3/4 https://t.co/7L4qMfp0as

Gambit moved into an outdoor space today! This video captures the moment when he first saw his new neighbor, Dawkins, the first fellow #monkey he has seen since he was a baby. Gambit has a long way to go but he is doing great so far! #GambitsJourney https://t.co/UzYEUy6QUO

When #KikiVervet first arrived at our #PrimateSanctuary, she was pale, with rings around her eyes, brow, nose, and mouth, indicating a chronic lack of access to sunlight. (As with humans, access to sunlight is vital for health and well-being.) 1/3 https://t.co/c9BPP7pRvl

After a lifetime of solitude and weeks of being carefully introduced from a distance, #KikiVervet finally met #PrimateSanctuary vervets Billie, Bouf, and Charles, and even groomed Billie – an enormous step forward for Kiki! More in this new #blog: https://t.co/DBRscK1vRY https://t.co/FyqpiCR8mo

Gambit now has full run of his #PrimateSanctuary outdoor enclosure and is able to see other #monkeys for the first time since being taken from his mother as a baby. He's still settling in, but has already had friendly interactions with his neighbor, Dawkins! #GambitsJourney 1/4 https://t.co/dnX351CKtM

While Gambit is still settling in at the #PrimateSanctuary & has a long road ahead, we are already seeing progress: the obsessive spinning has stopped! He's curious about his new outdoor surroundings and we can't wait to introduce him to other macaques! #GambitsJourney 2/2 https://t.co/bga2r6P22f

Gambit is safely back in TX! We are moving him into the quarantine enclosure from this transfer cage, where he will spend two weeks until we receive his test results. Then, we will move him to an enclosure where he will be able to walk outside for the first time! #GambitsJourney https://t.co/8LwQC9ZnVi

Now that he's outside, we are also hoping Gambit will gain some healthy color in his face and build up his leg muscles by climbing and leaping. #GambitsJourney 2/4 https://t.co/FfuuLooONm

Like many captive wild animals, Gambit the #monkey exhibited stereotypies – obsessive, repetitive behaviors driven by the stresses of captivity. He would pace and spin in the tiny cage he called home for 4 years, his only means of coping with life as a pet. #GambitsJourney 1/2 https://t.co/vIUm3frJXW

Now, a little over a month after moving to her outdoor enclosure at our #PrimateSanctuary, #KikiVervet is looking hale, hearty, and healthy! Her face is how a vervet's should be: dark black all over with defined white around her eyes. She is doing so well and we are so proud! 2/3 https://t.co/zo1bwIdFdr

Gambit is starting to wake up! Our sanctuary veterinarian, Dr. J., sedated him to ensure a safe transfer process into a travel crate for our journey back to the sanctuary. We've just crossed the Arizona state line and have 17 more hours to go! Stay tuned! #GambitsJourney https://t.co/NO6xn50IrU
