Heeding BYU president Kevin J Worthen’s counsel for students and faculty to be involved in “inspiring learning,” BYU Religious Education displayed outstanding student artwork to recognize students in various religion classes in 2019. Recently, Jordan T. Watkins, assistant professor of church history and doctrine at BYU, received the Harvey B. and Susan Easton Black Outstanding Scholarship Award. Professor Watkins received a PhD in American history from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He also has a BA in history from BYU and an MA in history from Claremont Graduate University.
