The 100th pheasant season in Iowa delivered the kind of optimism hunters haven’t felt in two decades. Roadside counts climbed. Rooster harvest was projected to be the strongest in 20 years. Northern bobwhite numbers in the southern tier surged, with quail harvest potentially doubling from recent seasons. Even Hungarian partridge populations showed signs of growth. But strong bird numbers don’t happen by accident. From winter survival and brood habitat to hunting pressure and predator dynamics, the takeaway is simple: habitat is the lever that matters most. Period. Listen now at the link in our bio. “On the Wing Podcast” is proudly fueled by @proplansportingdogs

The receiver is glossy black, nicely matching the barrels. Watch the full break down here: https://youtu.be/ONhhiZVC5vQ The Shotgun Showcase is presented by Guns.com & SoundGear

Over a hundred women from across our nation gathered this morning during the Women on the Wing Brunch at Pheasant Fest & Quail Classic. This year's theme, A Friend in the Field, highlighted how friends and four-legged companions bring women into the field and introduce them to their love of the uplands! “Not only have bird dogs changed my life, but they’ve changed the lives of my friends as well, and my time in the field has led me to some of the best people in the world." - @kaliparmley, editor-in-chief of @gundogmag and host of Wild Upland on the Outdoor Channel.
