Recently, Jordan T. Watkins, assistant professor of church history and doctrine at BYU, received the Harvey B. and Susan Easton Black Outstanding Scholarship Award. Professor Watkins received a PhD in American history from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He also has a BA in history from BYU and an MA in history from Claremont Graduate University.

Gerrit Dirkmaat, associate professor of church history and doctrine at BYU, was interviewed in several episodes of bonus content for “UNDAUNTED: Witnesses of the Book of Mormon,” produced by the Interpreter Foundation.

Carter Charles, assistant professor of church history and doctrine, was recently awarded with the Outstanding Mentoring Award from BYU Religious Education.
Dr. Charles is a proud natifnatal (native child) of Haiti, the first Black republic. He completed primary education in Haiti (in Haitian Creole and French), secondary education in French Guyana (in French, with English and Spanish as second and third languages) and higher education in Bordeaux, France.
