Our next professor spotlight is Mike MacKay!
What he likes most about working at BYU are the students! He especially loves serving in the community with them, like when they do homeless care at Catholic community services each semester.
Professor MacKay is very grateful that he was able to participate in the Joseph Smith Papers Project. He's also enjoyed doing additional research on the production of latter-day Saint scripture with students and research assistants.
A fun fact about Professor MacKay is that he served in the United States Air Force. Also, there are very few weeks in the winter that he doesn't go snowboarding!

Next up we're spotlighting Professor Jan Martin!
What she enjoys most is exploring and discussing the scriptures with BYU students. She also really likes the mental and spiritual wrestling that accompanies researching and writing about the scriptures. It’s exhausting but incredibly satisfying too.
Professor Martin is most pleased with the personal growth she can see in herself as she continues to find ways to improve what she does in the classroom and in her research. As she works at these things she's becoming a better person, which she's grateful for.
A fun fact about Professor Martin is that she lived in England for nearly seven years!
